Carlo Ancelotti

So the reason Ancelotti's stock is so much higher than Pellegrini's and why hes managed AC Milan, Real, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern winning everything there is whilst Pellegrini has since his spell at Real managed City, Malaga, some Chinese mob and is about to get fired by West Ham has nothing to do with him being a much better football manager?

Just luck, choices and agents.
Ancelotti has many advantages- he is Italian and was a star player. This allowed him to walk in at the top so to speak. He was groomed by Sachi for goodness sake.

Pelligrini’s path was much more difficult. He had to succeed in South America before getting the chance with smaller La Liga sides.

The same way Moyes had a more difficult path than, say, Arteta. He is walking straight in at Arsenal due to the fact he played there and the fact he is Pep's no 2. He got the latter gig as he is a former Barcelona boy.

It is legit proper weird how much both journalists and fans of other clubs are downplaying this. 'It'll all end in tears', 'joke club' etc. Why are people so arsed about us one minute and then, supposedly, 'don't care' the next? It's especially evident in people with affiliations to certain other clubs in particular..

Stinks to high heaven.
There scared mate, this is Everton finally showing ambition and a manager that will attract top class players

Unpopular opinion but this could be one of the worst appointments in the PL for a long time. Sorry to be a miserable git but out of all the possible up and coming young talented managers, we have decided to hire a dinosaur, who is clearly past his expiry date. I wanted a young up and coming manager like Rodgers, Eddie Howe, Nagelsmann, Pochettino, who have a good attacking philosophy and showed time and time again what they are capable of, in terms of building teams with limited resources. Sure, some of those managers are not available right now but there's always a chance of bringing them in the summer. We've rejected this idea and decided to go for a manager, who is basically a "cheque-book" manager. Managed to turn a great Napoli side under Sarri, into one of the most uninspiring teams in Italy; absolutely downgraded them. Liverpool had the chance of appointing either Ancelotti or Klopp, when they sacked Rodgers back in 2015, and 4 years on, they are on their way to creating a dynasty under Klopp.
How did the tenant evicting pond scum from across the park do against Ancelotti's Napoli

Choices. Luck. A multitude of reasons.

Benitez is a superstar manager but has spent the last few years of his career managing Newcastle and in China. Go figure.

Different managers have different motivations. Ancelotti might have a better agent. Who knows?

Clubs choose managers for all sorts of reasons, look at Arsenal choosing Arteta over Ancelotti now, it doesn’t mean Arteta is the better manager - but Arsenal clearly feel he’s the better fit.

Arsenal are a top club with some of the best Football people around and they have made their decision, they have their reasons for that.
Actually they tried for him but we wanted him more, he was our 1st choice, Arsenal he wasn’t, also Arsenal have no money and a poor squad

Didn’t say Pellegrini was better than Ancelotti.

But I guess he’s going to be sacked for the same reasons that Ancelotti was at Napoli, Parma, Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern - chiefly, he’s not reaching the levels he was expected to.
Love the way you always exclude his achievements with Milan, chiefly because they don't fit your rather bizarre narrative. Especially when you quote this 19 month figure.

I get you are just trying to play devils advocate, and fair enough, but everyone is thoroughly bored of it now.

Villareal was his first job in Europe. Hardly a small club.

If Ancelotti comes its not going to be a long term thing. If he is here in 18 months and doing a decent job then as soon as a bigger club is needing a manager he will be off with his kicks round his ankles. As good as he is, I don't think he is the right fit. The money will be ridiculous. Anyone thinking that Ancelotti automatically means the likes of James etc are going to be coming at the bit to sign are deluded. I'd rather the club were honest with its position and brought in Howe to build something.

To be honest it should be Dunc till the end of the season and see where the club is then.
Mods can we start banning these kopites please... really trying to ruin ppl buzz
