You can still like the guy and say he's an exceptional manager but disagree that he's right for us, right now. It comes back to my 'horses for courses' argument. Whether you agree or not is upto you, I don't believe Guardiola would be able to seamlessly adapt to running a club like Tranmere. Just as Micky Mellon wouldn't be able to work with a team like City. Before anyone starts, I'm not saying we are the equivalent of Tranmere in this situation, I'm just giving an extreme to illustrate the argument.
Both teams very happy with their respective managers, both good managers at what they do, but there are different skills required to do different jobs. There are challenges that Mellon faces at Tranmere that are utterly alien to Guardiola that he's never had to deal with before, and vice versa.
