It astounds me how anyone can have reservations about this appointment.

There's simply no comparison to Koeman to be made. One had twelve months at Saints, the other has won trophies everywhere he's been.

Ask yourself this..

How would you have felt if we didn't go for him?

Considering the lack of candidates out there Carlo is the best by far. Hell, he's even one of the best even if there was a plethora of outstanding candidates.

Were swimming in a different pool now with this guy. The board are never going to have been so open to scrutiny now we have him.

He will make players previously unattainable, attainable.

Its an utterly fantastic opportunity which we seem to have taken once it gets over the line.

Fair play Moshiri.

Yep ;)

If it doesn’t work out it doesn’t there can be zero criticism from Evertonians for this in my opinion . Yesterday I saw lads who’ve Seemed broken last few months actually buzzing at the prospect , these are middle aged men with a lifetime of Everton related heartache and they were feeling about 10 feet tall . This is special .

I totally agree. There’s context, as with everything.

But people are asking why there would be any concerns. We’re expecting a short term, title-winning, European Cup winning manager (one of the very best) to come in and bring some long term stability to a club that isn’t going to challenge for titles or european cups. It’s not saying he’s a bad manager or a bad appointment, just that it’s flawed logic.

How are you so sure of that

Its about time we had a manager worthy of the name.

Also, this leaves no ambiguity in my mind if things don't go well. I don't expect him to win a ton of trophies, but if he can't stabilize the club and put it on a path to success then we can stop all the bickering about managers and focus on the reality that the club will need a top to bottom purge to get back on the right track. Reality is that's close to what is needed anyway, and hopefully Ancelotti will lead that effort. But for all the stick we give Koeman and Silva and Roberto - they're probably not completely inept. They just didn't have the ability to rise above whatever's gone wrong with the club.

It really is simple. Koeman's had a reputation for poor man management going back to his Valencia days. There were plenty on here, including me, who warned about it at the time we were appointing him. Meanwhile Ancelotti has had a reputation for brilliant man management for decades.
Absolutely, I was gutted when we appointed Koeman thought he was an accident waiting to happen. Ancelotti though :celebrate::celebrate::pint2:
The Koeman comparasions are disgusting. Koeman was a "Hollywood manager" in disguise, very good player but far from it as a manager.

Ancelotti is a proper succesful manager. Enormous difference between him and Ronko.

Theyre both opposites.
