He's already a very wealthy man, he could've played the waiting game until the manager of another current top club in Europe was sacked.

Given his already stellar record maybe he sees more glory in putting a club back on the map.

Still makes me laugh, when I hear people have any negative opinions on this appointment. We could easily have ended up with Moyes, Howe or Dyche. Yes, they may have steadied the ship, and maybe have got us into the Europa in a season or two, but that's it. Ancelotti is a gamble worth taking. It could blow up in our faces, and the signs are there, from his last 2 clubs (Bayern and Napoli), BUT, when are we going to get a chance again, in the near future to get one of the worlds most decorated managers at our helm. I'm totally willing to accept this going wrong, and us taking a chance than to have watched another possible few seasons of a Sam Alladyce type managerial approach to our club
