2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

The January window will dictate my expectations for how Everton finish in the table

Its exciting to think that with a couple of decent additions, and shipping out Tosun and maybe one or two others, sixth place and Europe is not outside the realms of possibility. We'd likely need to win around eleven or twelve of the last eighteen league games, but the fact this is even a chance is incredible after we were post-derby against the RS.

We've had a series of poor managers. Recruitment didn't address the issues with the spine of the team. We all have our opinions on that. Surely, what we can agree on is the tactical masterclass, that Ancelotti is delivering.

To take a rag tag bunch in such a short space of time and get a tune out of them. It's almost like an epiphany has occurred in the club. (some of us have been calling out the dross for years and finally the board have delivered, a manager who knows how to manage). Who would have known?

Hire quality and you'll get the rewards. But this isn't about point scoring. We're all actually agreeing on the same point. Mistakes have been made, it's academic now to apportion blame. There's two important games coming up. City and the sycophantic media's darlings.

Imagine going into a game when a serial winner backs you. The squad must be feeling invulnerable right now. Smelling blood. It's been awhile since I've looked into the eyes of Everton players and seen hunger. They walked off that pitch against Newcastle today, they believed they were unstoppable.

And I for one hope they shove every doubting, name calling accusations down my throat. Step up and be a man. Destiny beckons.

Ask again after the City + RS games, then we can say for sure

I'll say this for sure mate. We ain't gonna get rolled over. Those players mean business. They're coming out onto the field like world beaters. Holgate looks like he wants to kick off at any moment. DCL is playing like his life depends on it. The high wage players, I think they realize they can't coast anymore.

If I was a betting man, I'd go for the team who is up for a fight. They've been backed into a corner and have nothing to lose. City are coasting, the FA cup tie, none of that lot will want to get injured. Controlled aggression. It will come down to who wants it more.

He's still got a job on here clearing out the tat that not only Koeman brought in but Brands has added to.

One thing I think we can guarantee is that in no way shape or form will Ancelotti stand for any player coming into Everton that he doesn't suggest we get first. THAT will at least stop the rot in terms of the deterioration in quality - both ability wise and in terms of mentality.

He does however seem to get a tune out of whichever player he puts on the pitch. What's the old saying, give me salt and potatoes, and I'll give you back crisps, but give me vinegar and a little oil, and piping hot chips you shall have.

8th would be pretty crap tbh. We are only 4 points behind 8th right now with half a season to play for. 8th would be a fat Sam goal/expectation.

Fully expections to fight for 6th or higher now. Would be a disappointment otherwise.
Your right mate

Carlo ain’t come to Everton to finish 8th
