2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

I agree, but I think the only way he will do that is getting in no more than two players per window. By definition, that makes an overhaul longer but for us we simply have to focus on quality and not quantity. Combine that with a manager who knows what he is doing and its a recipe for success.

Last summer was the scattergun approach again and we were still bizarrely left short in the critical areas. Iwobi looks to have been a prime example of a panic signing, although still confident Ancelotti will get at least something more from him.

We cannot afford any more mistakes with transfers if we are to have any hope to progress and that makes it crucial that the man with the know-how and appeal is driving the process.
Think last year we struggled to get our key targets because we wouldn’t pay or they wouldn’t come because of the manager or the stature of the club, with Carlo now in charge it will be easier.
Still have the problem of shifting players on big wages..Sandro, Tosun, Snides, Niassie and a few others

I dont think volume matters (within reason) if the man buying them has an ability to blend a team.

Ancelotti has a core of players here to work with: Coleman/Kenny/Sidibe (if bought); Digne; Holgate; Richarlison; (maybe) DCL (maybe Gomes). But that's it.

He needs this January to buy - or loan with a view to a buy - 2 players. Next summer he could easily integrate 4 more without disruption.

We shouldn't forget just how chronic the buying of Koeman and Brands has been.
Brands has bought well mate, every players been an upgrade. Did brands sleep with your wife or something.
Since Moyes left our signing in general have been poor and we are still stuck with a load of tosh on big wages that affected our ability to buy our main targets.
Having Carlo will make us getting main targets much easier

He's still got a job on here clearing out the tat that not only Koeman brought in but Brands has added to.

One thing I think we can guarantee is that in no way shape or form will Ancelotti stand for any player coming into Everton that he doesn't suggest we get first. THAT will at least stop the rot in terms of the deterioration in quality - both ability wise and in terms of mentality.

list the tat brands has added. Give us all a Sunday morning laugh.

If Dave is married god help his wife....her head must be absolutely battered by him regarding the poor purchases she makes when she goes shopping. Constantly telling her she's made the wrong choice on tea bags, biscuits and so on....Poor woman.

Absolutely delighted to have a proper manager at our club.

Huge difference between him and most managers we have seen is that he is like a human computer, he processes and reacts.... doesnt sit there with his arms folded as if to say "well I've done my bit before the game.... it's not my responsibility now"

He just reeks of experience, calm and strength.

Season's Greetings - Happy New Year! Ancelotti is just what we have needed. Getting the most out of players, acknowledging Duncan Ferguson had motivated them already. Rotating more of the squad. Good to see Baines getting an outing. A good performance with Digne and Bernard still on the bench - no harm in giving them a rest, and Mina pretty fresh with City next. A much more attractive club for players to join next month, even if Ibrahimovic got away. Will Niasse make it on the pitch? It would be fab if CA could make something of his unique skill set.

I am keeping my fingers crossed and everything else I have. I think at last we may have a manager of the likes of HK and HC which can takes us forward after so much depression..

My favourite thing about Carlo is his in-game management. During the game he will change formation and players roles to control the game. Its a simple thing, that has been overlooked by many of our previous managers.
