The managers before had no credit in the bank whatsoever so therefore got the grace period they deserved from the fans. Martinez had an ok start but everyone could see what he was doing, then the results came and the credit he got from his first season kept the fans off his back in the poor second season but he dug his own grave in the third. Koeman showed zero interest in being our manager and therefore after an average first season had the fans on his back quite quickly when he showed he had no idea how to stop the rot. Silva was similar, he’d done nothing in his career to earn unlimited patience and once again didn’t seem to care that much and only had an average season behind him so when he ran out of answers the fans were on him. Ancelotti has a career that demands credit from fans, he’s probably shown more interest in the job and the club than Koeman and Silva combined, and therefore the fans are initially responding well to it.
