Yesterday's match was in some ways diabolical, but we still were in a position to nick a point in the majority of the match. With the players available to him against City, that was probably as much as we could ask for, and for the first time in a long time, I thought it was possible that we could still pull it off even when under the cosh.
I noticed on the tv that at the full time mark when the cameras were on Ancelotti that he seemed to be in internal turmoil; it was more emotion than I saw from Silva (unless dejection counts) and in its own way pleased me as much as Ferguson going crazy. He obviously wants to do well and is frustrated by what he was seeing out there and furiously trying to figure out what to do. His career makes me believe that he has the ability to wring as much from the current squad as anyone else out there, and if it all goes well will gain from the returning-from-injury players as well as re-strengthen in this window. It's very promising. Needs a key signing to come in. Who is the current Andy Gray or Peter Reid?
He's not got an easy job, and even though we lost yesterday, I have a belief in Ancelotti, that I haven't done since Kendall or Royle.
