I think he knows he is here for the long term
The fans will be patient and back him because after him its downhill
The board will back him financially and give him time because he is the best we can get and their focus will be on the stadium.
2 or 3 key signings in January could get us Europa ,and then we can attract a better class of player and slowly build.
Realistically we only have 4/5 players capable of getting a place in a genuine top 1/2/3 team in the league
Hopefully he leads us into a full house in the USM Dixie Dean Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
We don't have 4/5 players.
We have Richy and digne. The rest need replacing.

I know we 'can' get 6th or 7th but I'm not having that 'a lot' of fans believe it's realistic for us to do so.

5 points isn't a chasm, of course, it's do-able but just because it's do-able doesn't mean it's realistic.

Those teams have far greater resources than us and that is usually a deciding factor once these races have been run.

And, even with all of those factors, with all 4 playing as terribly as they have, all of them are still above us.

Your premise appears to be that they will continue to struggle while our form will pick up and we'll find an unprecedented level of consistency.
No they will be inconsistent and so will we
i would prefer Ancelotti over any of those clubs managers with the exception of possibly only possibly Mourniho to stabilize a team

He's not bad against poorer teams that sit back, but we may as well play nobody than play him against opposition like City. He gets completely overrun and dispossessed against mobile, hardworking midfields

I'd venture yesterday was his worst for us, he looked completely lost, like the game was 5-10 seconds ahead of him. He had nothing about him to get involved or to finding a way of getting involved.
Don't think there was a single thing he did, on a big occassion, that would have embedded him in to Ancelotti's future plans.
He isn't a bad player he's just not the right player for us, far too one paced.

Means absolutely nothing.

He's a top manager, he's not a miracle worker, mate.

possibly Mourniho to stabilize a team

lol

Mourinho offers the very definition of instability. Comes in like a hurricane, wins a few pots and leaves absolute carnage behind.

That was one of city's worst starting 11's.

No laporte, stones, Ederson, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, sane, sterling, walker, aguero.

Apart from de bruyne and Mendy it was essentially a b team.

Ancelotti knows he needs big game players, time for mosh to provide

Just like to point out that city's B team would probably push for champions league spots. If your B team consists of Brazils first choice striker, 2 £40m fullbacks from Juve and Monaco, Gundogan who is World class when he's not injured (don't forget he gave Barca the run around when he first arrived), £50m Rodri. It's only the centre backs and keeper that were dodgy!

And you like mid table mediocrity.

You were one of the ones who wanted to give Silva more time aren't you.
Go on, admit it.
Yes I was earlier in the season.
But from day 1 I was against employing him.
We couldnt keep on sacking managers with no one to replace them.
Until Usmanov met with Ancelotti who were we linked with
Another Portugese duffer from China and Moyes
No point in sacking a manager without a plan for a replacement

Three games in to be fair some positives in there but also some downers. Carlo has only just taken the helm, I have faith in him for the long run how many of you do?

Are fans seriously questioning ancelotti already?we lost 2-1 away to the champions and unfortunately have the current best team in England and Europe to play on Sunday which will be a harder game than city.we can’t expect him to work miracles with that team over night that team is silvas team that have been so inconsistently bad all season due to players not playing good enough and injuries wrong tactics whatever.but the effort since Chelsea has been 100 per cent better and lots of positives to take from the last few results and players much more confident but he’s got a massive job to do and he needs to spend and rebuild in the summer for next season.mourinho is still losing games with spurs and he’s another great manager.give ancelotti time
