Some terrible management by Ancelotti today. No hiding from it.

I hope he knows what players he can now trust in the future.

Sadly he doesn’t have many. Especially when it comes to central midfielders.

I really like this man. He knew that we should have been out of sight in the first half, confidence dropped and we fizzled out. I especially like when he said that he doesn’t normally speak to players after a game, but that they would speak. A real honest appraisal and a hint of menace in his voice.....

Is it not a tad early to get our knickers in a twist though? I mean that was hardly a full strength side we put out either (Gomes, Gbamin, Lukaku replacement etc).

Agreed mate. It’s not like we weren’t this bad before or complete bottle jobs.. takes more then 2 weeks to undo 25 years of poor mentality

He said he was going to have a meeting after the derby to discuss transfer business.

The one positive to today is that I'm sure the theme of the meeting will be that the squad is nowhere near good enough and serious investment is needed.

People on here keep telling me we have a good squad of players and I just can't see it. There's enough for us to grind out the victories we need to get to mid table but in terms of character, personality and quality? Complete and utter vacuum.

I will never begin to understand how so much money has been squandered on so many players who just aren't good enough. Ancelotti has a ridiculous job on his hands to turn the club around.

I’ve been saying this for ages. This squad is really poor, it’s lacking in virtually every department. People who thought we could just sack silva and everything would be amazing were embarrassingly naive. That being said, I don’t think we got our team selection right today. I’m not davies’s biggest fan by a long shot but his energy could have made a difference in midfield I think. And we should have stuck to 4 4 2 and forced them back, in my opinion.

That 'effort' today should influence him quicker than he may have first thought. Lets hope so anyway.

The problem is that the tactics, decisions, movements and positioning that Silva instilled in the players are still there. Ancelotti can reshape the formation and tell the players what he wants them to do on the pitch but that doesnt erase Silvas teachings. Silvas tactics still come naturally to them and players easily revert to those habits.

Sidibe made four successful passes in the first half and consistently lost his runners. Wasn't offering anything.

Why did he leave him on?

There's always more that can be done when you lose to a team of rezzies and kids.

Sorry, his tactics and changes were crap.

Again, this doesn't excuse the players.

Surely he knows Klopps pressing game yet he knew our side never had the legs in midfield balls over the top were needed to our faster layers - we are back to tippy tappy stuff even further back in the 2 nd half for me half Pickford was guilty of this Coleman had a go at him, and got subbed .....

The players for me this one. Ancelotti used what hes been given the best he could. They bottled it again , but this time it was against kids. They missed about 10 complete sitters that even carlton palmer would have scored.

It’s not bottle though, it’s talent. If it was bottle they’d normally score those chances but just miss them on the big occasion. They don’t though, they miss them every week. DCL still isn’t a natural finisher, loads of people vaulted posts when he scored in a couple of successive games but a natural finisher scores today and yet again he didn’t.

I'd be kicking down the boardroom door tomorrow and literally demanding 150m now and demand that no matter what the players are worth, get shut of half a dozen for pennies if you have to.

Certain players HAVE NO RIGHT to be at Everton Football Club, they are an absolute desease and need to be booted out of this club asap.

Your acting like we went there a few weeks ago and won 5-2 or didnt threw a game on the 97 minute or 500 times we been there before and lost

I'm concerned that he would start a midfield with those 3 perennial failures that have sacked 3 Managers alone really. Is Ancelotti's name and profile above criticism? You didn't see Big Dunc putting out a starting midfield like that did you?
