2019/20 Carlo Ancelotti

It’s shoot or bust time now, we’ve appointed Ancelotti, god knows how we persuaded him to come. We have to stick with him because he really is the best man we could hope to attract, so, perhaps it will dawn on the bottling outhouses we have in the dressing room that downing tools is not an option here, the manager is a proven winner, not like the assortment of journeyman mercenaries who play for us.

Over the next 3 windows the club must support Ancelotti and replace any of the current crop who are either not good enough, or, unwilling to buckle down, show a bit of pride in themselves and their club and learn from a master.

The alternative is unthinkable, I fear for the club if the Ancelotti era is not successful, as we will only go one way from here if That comes to pass.

I still think the upside for him is significant if he gets it right here.

Its a unique challenge for him and he has to be given huge credit for having the cajones to take us on.

People will have different ideas of what success means, for me its a Top 4 spot.

Imagine the headlines then - from being beaten by Liverpools reserves to the Champions League.

He would have a CV that all the glamour managers don't have and wouldn't have.

He now has all the power here directly and indirectly - its how he uses it.

Anyone know what the contract situation is like for Siggurdsson, Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Tosun, Walcott etc?

How many years left specifically, as I can't see us selling any of them considering nobody is mad enough to pay them the wages we are.

I believe it's something like Walcott 18mths, Schneiderlin 18mths, and I think Tosun and Keane have 2½ yrs left, but I'm not 100% certain. Looking at it, that seems like a long time, so I may be wrong.

Honestly dont think hes equipped to turn us around in our current state

Hes a Hollywood manager used to working with elite footballers
No one is equipped! We’ve tried upcoming managers? Big name managers, even Sam Allardice and none of them have sorted this rabble out.

Ancelotti now knows the size of the job he has after last nights debacle. Motivating a bunch of lilly livered losers for the rest of this season is going to be very difficult, regardless of his standing in the game. Most of the squad know their days are numbered, hence the lack of any fight. And it's not just the players he's got to inspire, I currently hate Everton more now than I have in my 58 years, apathy has consumed me.

This is what these players have done to the fans.

Some of them have seen off 3 managers in 3 years, Carlo, don’t let them see you off.

Cull the bastards and start from scratch! The fans will be behind Ancelotti 100% in getting rid of most of this crap.

I honestly think that there probably isn't a single player in the squad that couldn't be sold now... Digne, Richarlison... honestly don't think that fans would care less if they were sold to make way for new signings....

Nope. Obviously that is unrealistic so I’m willing to give time to Richarlison and Mina but other than that I don’t care one bit about the rest.

Football is a simple sport. You get a good manager and 15-18 very good players and you’ll do well.

Ancelotti has always had very good - world class players.

He’s got a midtable squad of players now and that’s being kind. He won’t be given the money to recruit 15-18 very good players so basically he’s got to work with whatever he’s given. And Ancelotti isn’t a spring chicken. Time isn’t on his side and he’s nowhere near the great manager he was hence his stint at Napoli and how here. Would Pep Guardiola consider a job at Napoli or Everton? That’s my point.

I love Carlo but I can only see it ending in tears.
