I kind of get it when people say we’re more likely to have a top 4 push if we don’t have to worry about playing all the extra Europa games. But people said that last year about this season and look how that’s worked out...

Clearly not being in the Europa doesn’t guarantee more success in the league, but being in the Europa does guarantee some boss European clashes, reputation growth and greater revenue so I’m all for it.

If we don't get used to playing European football then how long do people think we will last if we get to the CL? You have to get used to playing twice a week and abroad a lot of the time. It's a learning curve and this team needs to start its lessons again.

Personally I have a lot more confidence in not getting smashed with Carlo at the helm. If we can progress through to latter stages of the knockout competition then we'll know we are ready to compete in the CL.

Of course I don't think we ever saw much of training from Silva, but I like the setup of Ancelotti's work

Personally I want the squad to grow a bit first before Europe. Not because I don’t want us to compete but because I don’t think we are ready. My worry is that the extra burden will put strain on premiership performances before we’ve gained a real foothold. Then when we slip down the League the fans will end up calling for the managers head!

Imagine the extra burden of even Europa football on this team, this season? I would take CL football obviously, but Europa nah defiantly don’t want that just yet... it’s like a forcefield that takes clubs approaching the top four and purposefully tires them out, spitting them downwards at least a couple of league positions!

This is our 2nd season without European football.

Has that worked out well!?

Considering where he’s come from that’s exceptional from him. But I guess losers would have the attitude them two chancers had.

I think that he is here for the whole term of his contract, cannot see him being shown the door like the last few. I also have a feeling we are his last club to manage and will likely extend his contract. We should be moving into a new stadium what better surround for him to continue. I think he will have the support idc to take us into Europe.

2 legged ties are not new now.
'Get used' to playing in Europe - means nothing. We had 5 yrs continously from 62-63...got nowhere.
The rs had none and got to the Semis because they had a good team...until they met a better one.
How much experience did Villa and Forest have. United hadn't kicked a ball in Europe for 12yrs when they won it.
Everton had no prior experience in 85.
The better players you have the further you go.
