I don't think the squad is fit enough to press tbh.

I don't think there's any trust between the players either.

If DCL goes to close down a defender who has the ball and turns around to see that Davies hasn't pushed up from midfield and Iwobi hasn't come over from the right to get tight to the full back then next time he's either going to do it half arsed or not bother at all.

Really? I think the opposite.

I bet hes looking at this and excited to build something over the next 5 seasons minimum.

Shape something exactly how he wants it.

I'm with you - I have banged on about this before, but have a read of his book - he has been longing for a challenge to build a club from the bottom up. He thought he was going to get that at PSG and didn't and it is clearly his biggest disappointment in the game. Everton gives him the chance to say that he has done it with the best, and also built the best. It's an obvious legacy play, and how lucky we are to have him. We must support him properly, and I think we will.

He will sort it, this isnt his squad its a team that was in a genuine relegation fight when he came , he has given it some shape steadied the ship.
We are in a situation were he will be getting things sorted in his evaluation of the squad to go forwards.
Don't forget nearly half his time here we were in lock down so he didnt have that much to go on as far as his hands on work with the squad.
I think we will back him and he will do a good job, first manager i have had any real faith in since Royle.
Moyes did a good job for a few years ,the rest shouldn't have got near the club this fella i would say is the right fit going forward

That's an excellent video as it's essential what he's changed it to in the 2nd half yesterday and against Spurs, just with an extra CB.

Yeh I think watching it and seeing how he used players to their strengths in that 4-3-1-2 / 4-3-2-1 makes me wonder why he persists with 4-4-2 after the restart. We haven't looked good using it once.

I think it's more a case of having a game every 3 days and keeping things simple with a limited squad who are knackered. We are looking solid in defence, it's just getting the ball from them to our strikers is breaking down in the middle of the park.

Well we're playing probably the most tiring formation for central midfielders and making barely any changes between games so not sure that's what's happening.

I don't think we really do look that solid in defence though do we? In the first half yesterday and for an hour or so against Leicester we looked very shaky. There's been some good old school defending, heading things away and blocking shots, but we're not really defending particularly well as a unit.

I'm looking on it from a perspective that whilst we've hardly had any posession we aren't giving up many clear chances and we aren't conceding many. I'm not sure how you can argue that we aren't defending well having (since the restart) shipped less than a goal a game.

By watching the games? Crazy I know, but you could try it. We defended well against Liverpool, partly because we sacrificed all attacking intent and got everybody behind the ball, but that's fine. Norwich we defended fine, although it really is important to note that they are a side who've only scored 23 goals all season, and 1 in their last 9. Leicester we didn't defend well. We got away with it to an extent, and there was some good muck and nettles individual defending, but we didn't defend well as a team. Spurs offered very little going forward. Again the defending was generally fine in itself. Last night the defending was poor. They caused us all sorts of problems. Evidently you think because they only scored once it was great. I'm not sure Ancelotti would agree with you.
