We didn’t play that way at the start or middle of the season. The injury to Doucoure seems to have moved Carlo to a permanent back 5 though and we just can’t play it.

Start of the season DCL was playing like Messi, middle of the season we were scoring with virtually every shot. Neither of those things were sustainable.

I've said it time and again, when we are crap he deserves criticism but I'm telling you now, 100% it ain't turning whatsoever.

We are all fed up of changing our manager and we all decided we would give him more time and we’ve done it in total blind faith because of what he’s won.

18 months in he gets another season for me but we are going have to spend an awful lot of money because he’s not going to coach a team to be better.

These players are the problem. Even our good ones are not as good as they think they are. How some our support still cannot see that is absolutely baffling.

So what is the excuse when he had players fit? We still played the same turgid, pedestrian football.

I’m still far from actually calling for his head, but what I will say is, at the back end of last season those people moaning about the style of football were told to stop whingeing and wait until next season when we’d have a true representation of the style of play. A year on, is it safe to assume this is the style of play we should get used to?

We’ve just taken 2 points from Burnley, Palace and Brighton and you’re asking why it’s turning?

Do any of those teams have a depleted squad like ours or such an injury record. Will any of those teams be ahead of us come the end of the season? Short term versus long.

People moan about Kopites but they lost how many on the bounce at home, yet we have people crying at less. It’s not great at the moment, but it’s not terrible.

Anyone who thinks Duncan Ferguson isn’t a shoe in for the next manager haven’t been paying attention...

It’s been a grim watch at times this season. Years of terrible signings, changes in managers and an unbalanced squad has left us in a mess.

Have to think long term though, planning has to be in place for us to be competitive at the top end when we move to the new stadium. Is ancelotti the man to be a part of that? We seem to have tried everything with managers, young and exciting (Martinez), decent prem pedigree and a big name (koeman) , old school (Allardyce)...nothing seems to work. If brands can’t steer the ship as DOF then he needs to be replaced.

Honestly though I only expect a Euro place which is 7th and we are 1 point away from it.
