I’ve been disappointed with him personally, but he hasn’t had anything like a run of games/form so I’m fully aware of why he hasn’t been at his best.

Played superb in patches but patches doesn't work when it comes to midfielders. We need them available week in week out. Someone posted in the Allan thread that he's out for thr season with another hamstring injury so that will be interesting to see.if that comes true.

The worry is this "quiet leadership" thang. Him, Martinez, Silva all different managers but none were the type you feel would hang a player out to dry or bust some heads in the dressing room.

This club needs Dogs of War type management - thats why we punched above our way under Moyes and in fairness to Fat Sam the season he had us 8th with Sandro and a washed up Rooney up top. Big Royle speaks for himself.

Hopefully Carlo can turn things around but the fear is that there is a lack of expectation at the club that runs from the top down and you get the feeling its all fun and games behind the scenes and in training. Thats where a hard nosed manager can help focus the players in the dressing room from thinking they are at gulliver's world.

Some proper oddballs in here tonight pretending we were playing like prime Barcelona until 2 weeks ago. We’ve been playing like a drain for months, including when we had the fabled Allan and doucoure partnership. Heady days when they had rings run round them by kalvin Phillips, Ashley Westwood, Jonjo Shelvey et al.

Of course we can’t sack him and of course we’ve got injuries, but honestly this has been hard work all season. I don’t expect miracles but I also don’t really expect us to spend £300m in the summer, so he really needs to be able to do something with the players he’s got because plenty of them are going to be staying in the team and we simply cannot have another year of playing like this, it’s soul destroying.

I agree with him mate, I think most of us do. It's a sensible thing to say. We've all on here pointed at the recuritment too.

Issue for me is there's this kind of attitude - or there has been - that it's all okay, that it'll get sorted. Unfortunately I've seen limited evidence of that. The man who has been in charge for the last three years is still here and needs to buck his ideas up sharpish if he's going to be here longer because we can't afford to waste more time.

My issue with Carlo is there's no actual idea or plan it seems at times. I don't lay that particular fault at his door today, but over the trend of the season that's one of the big reasons why we've dropped points.

I also will suggest that while our recruitment hasn't been amazing, there should be no reason why our players can't pass a ball like Brighton's players can pass a ball, or can't run with the ball like how Leeds' players run with the ball. These are basic things, and I've seen no evidence of that over the last 17 months. Indeed, we cannot press at all, our players don't know how to press, yet under Silva that was actually an effective part of our game (or it was until we sold Gana).

There's a myriad of issues and Kev is spot on. But, and I said this back in November, I doubted we'd see that team that started the season together more than 5 times following that initial derby when Coleman got injured and Rich got suspended. Well, six months later, we've still not seen it, and I doubt we will before the season is out.

Not gonna disagree with any of that mate.

People are so pessimistic especially those clamoring for trophies. But I think we're on course and destined to be awarded the Roberto Martinez most sideway passes in a season trophy. Hopefully we don't bottle it

We haven’t really played “well” in a game since probably October I don’t think. Fulham away in the first half was the last time I actually enjoyed watching us play football.

Shift from "results" and "x points off 4th" to "it's the players" and "he will do more when he gets another window" coming soon. And those sentiments aren't entirely wrong but neither is the one where the football is every bit as bad as when he first took over.

And I'm not even trying to blame him for tonight, he did what he could in the circumstances, but we can't excuse it when we've had about 10 of these performances at a minimum this season.

Who can defend this fella anymore. He’s an actual joke as manager.

2 points from Burnley, Palace and Brighton.

Get out of the club, you absolute dinosaur of a manager.
With all due respect, you once described Ronald Koeman as our best manager in 20 years.

Which does kind of call into question your judgement.

Burnley away after Delph got hurt even though we didn't turn it all the way around was good stuff. Carlo did that by accident though. And it launched the thing where we play all the CBs which has been a bad trend so a net negative.
