There is no real difference between Everton today and Everton 3 years ago - in all that time, they’ve been a mediocre, mid table outfit.

Obsessing over points swings from season to season is pointless if ultimately you’re still treading water in the same part of the league and are putting in the same impotent performances. I don’t know why that is so difficult to grasp.

The basics of the game is to finish as high up the table as possible.

I don't know how else to explain this to you but 8th is better than 10th.

You can blame the players and we have rightly done so. However Carlo and the coaching team are as much to blame. Despite significant investment, we have have no clear identity as how we play, the football has been largely poor all season. A big rethink needed in the off season as regards to recruitment and how we are going to move forwards with regard to how we play. This season has been totally unacceptable.

Agree, what is being coached? It looks like we just toss a strategy together game to game, the players rightly get pelters but they’re not the ones setting up in different formations, different positions and different personnel every game. That’s management/coaching decisions. They haven’t instilled any discernible style of play, other than sit deep and counter attack. I’m not Carlo out at all but if he needs to do better than this next season.

Not sure points or where we finished overall matters as much as just how bad we actually look when we play. No real plan or intensity. Incredibly passive and only seem to score by accident. We absolutely haven't improved from the start of the season. In many ways we've gone backwards

I hope what he alluded to was true about us not worrying about FFP this summer.
