In my honest opinion something has happened to change his mind. Always considered him a man of class and integrity, always come across like that and wouldn’t expect him to go back on his word.

The pessimist in me - which 35 years of Everton has instilled in me - says this is an Everton related problem. I’m leaning towards the idea that he hasn’t been given reassurances this summer and believes the job requires a lot more extensive work than he may have hoped for and he won’t be given that.

Nuno's tactics are a replica of Carlo's this season - ultra defensive football, decent results against the better sides but struggles against the poor sides as cant set teams up to be on the front foot.

If he came aboard its 8th at best every season.

I'm more worried about at worst. 8th feels like a pipedream right now.

It does not make him a bad manager. He was just not the right manager for Everton at that time.

Never trust manager markets mate.

It's a true market, which bookmakers can actually control.

They can't control the outcome of any sport, but they can inflate/deflate prices, to get some people on the hook throwing money on and losing their dough.

As disgraceful as the football was under Sam, no one could accuse him of not caring. He was a vile man but at least he had an ounce of pride in what he was trying to do and was sad to leave the job. Every other manager we’ve had since Moyes couldn’t be arsed with us.

He just strikes me as another one who just wouldn’t care if we won or lost. He’d just use us to put himself in the shop window for another club and the apathy spreads to the players who just down tools yet again.

We need a manager who is committed to weeding out the bad eggs in the squad and taking us forward over the next few seasons .

If you're drawing a line graph we went up immediately in the first 3 weeks, flatlined, spiked at the start of this season and flatline the rest of the way. So sure if you're happy with those immediate three weeks than that is progress but for me no being in the same spot we were 18 months ago doesn't count.

I mean there was an immediate boost yes. I try to look across his year and a half though, and while there have been peaks and troughs, there has been improvements in terms of the points won.
