The manager's position is a huge roll, but I think playing personnel is more important. Carlo proved no matter how good your cv is, trying to get a tune out of our slugs is almost impossible. We need a total clear-cut, and whatever manager we get in needs to identify that as a priority. It's a massive task for whoever comes in.
buddy u will be abusing any new manager after 10 games have some self respect please.

Could have had some cracking days with stamp collections, or lego collections... world could be my oyster, instead i'm stuck with this... a constant reminder that i've got to ruin my mood at least once a week, every week for the rest of my life.

Ha ha

I’ll try to be positive. If and it’s a big if, Everton ever truly get it’s act together, boardroom to pitch, aspire to the motto, you’ll smile and those days of cack will be a backbone to truly appreciate it.

I mean there was an immediate boost yes. I try to look across his year and a half though, and while there have been peaks and troughs, there has been improvements in terms of the points won.
I'm just not arsed when we're winning points how we were. Results aren't predictive of future results. We don't play well enough to expect that to continue without serious change.

Our last non 1-0 win was the derby in February. That's insane.

Win % can be misleading.

Arteta was 47% at Arsenal last season. At a similar age, Klopp got 35% at Mainz which got him the Dortmund job.

It is relative to the team being managed, the league they are in and the overall capability of the squad.

Brighton have had 41 points for the last two seasons and been comfortable from relegation while playing good Football. Many made them favourites for relegation in both of those seasons, because of the squad abilities.

Potter is a good manager, his win % won't stop him getting a good opportunity with a more ambitious club.

"comfortable from relegation".... isn't really a compliment, when they're facing teams who weren't good enough to survive from the offset (fulham and WBA) and a team who imploded.

No team has stayed up with sub 30 points, so in theory 31 would have been enough to stay up. They also secured safety 2 weeks before end of season. He's not someone i'd want... the myth he's a good manager really is astounding to me.

If he's that good, why aren't they above the might of Southampton, Newcastle and Palace? Bog standard.

Also, fwiw, I don't think he'd leave Brighton, they've invested into his "vision", and he won't throw that away.

In my honest opinion something has happened to change his mind. Always considered him a man of class and integrity, always come across like that and wouldn’t expect him to go back on his word.

The pessimist in me - which 35 years of Everton has instilled in me - says this is an Everton related problem. I’m leaning towards the idea that he hasn’t been given reassurances this summer and believes the job requires a lot more extensive work than he may have hoped for and he won’t be given that.
I completely understand that and agree, the logical thing is that something has changed. Still find it weird he's just bailing tho.

The new fella will improve on 10th, thats a gimme, we will buy better players and even my cat could improve on 10th with better players.

Carlo would have done the same.

Just so you dont think it justifies anything for you in May next year.
