I've read back your post history regarding this matter, all I can say is that I hope you/you're source is full of it. Would be really sad to have such Game of Thrones screenplay running behind closed doors.

As far as Carlo and Nkonkou/Gordon not playing, I've been following Carlo from 2003 AC Milan. He prefers experienced players. I can't remember when's the last time he promoted someone from youth teams. Sure, they get to play if they're extremely talented players with star potential brought in for a price tag, like Pato was. Or like Kaka was. But other than that, I think you guys are waiting for Godot when it comes to youth team promotion.

Iwobi is one of the most expensive players in the club's history, and he's doing odd jobs here and there because he still doesn't have a position at 24 years old.

Agree with the rest, though. I didn't think he'd go so far as to not use Kenny, who is at least fairly experienced after his loan spell in Germany, but it seems like he's fully resolved to not giving Nkounkou a kick after the Newcastle game. I just wish he'd be so ruthless with some of the others.

All conjecture, but it rings true if you've been paying close attention to how the club has operated since the turn of the century.

Wether you/we like it or not. They have better squads than Everton in terms of balance. They have bought better. They recruited better. A lot of our expensive signings, pickford, sigurdsson, iwobi, tosun, mina etc wouldnt get in their teams. Picking out individual players like you did there doesnt cut it. The above sides bought players to gel into jobs for the team.
We bought sigurdsson as an example with no real clue where he was going to play. Same as iwobi. Then on top of that we bought keane. We knew where he was going to play but we payed 30m for a player who played at burnley with a midfield camped in front of him. Totaly different style at Everton.
Bottom line. Our due diligence on recruiting has been abysmal.
Sack another manager and the same thing exists. Transfer windows to undo it. Even then its fingers crossed their signings are a success.

Talking of sacking from some fans is mental. We'll never get another manager of Ancellotis quality and experience again if we sack him. Have some patience and let him do his job and that's a different story. It's classic spoilt behaviour, spitting the dummy out cuz expectations they had aren't happening when and how they want them to. Would love to hear the bright ideas of who is coming in better than Ancelloti? Going by our terrible recruitment, unless in dire straits in the league, the man should be given at least 3 seasons to get it right. Rodriguez and Allan wouldn't have sniffed at us without Ancelloti, Richarlison and Digne probably would've been away also.

You're talking about a 3 times Champions League winner here not Tony Pulis. His reputation is cemented and he'll always been known as one of the best managers in history regardless of what he does with us or what's said on Fans forums.

Target Lenglet... he goes to Barca so we go for a totally different player in Mina.

Target Gabriel...dither so he joins Barca and go for Godfrey...totally different

Target Zaha...rejected bid so we get Iwobi...different.

Target Doucoure...rejected bid so we get Delph...different.


Its like we want a player for a position and arent looking at them properly...

Some of that is his own fault for letting Walcott and Kean out of the door (although neither were contributing much to Everton, and we have no idea if we needed to free up wages for new signings) but the rest of it isn’t.

We can’t afford to let Tosun sit here on his hefty wages and run his contract down. At best we sell him at worst we loan him out, no one will take him if he’s not even making the squad every week when we have no other options. Similar for Sigurdsson.

If Ancelotti could just discard all the players he didn’t want he’d be left with about 8 or 9 players and 4 of those he brought in. Sadly he can’t, he has to make do and mend until we can transfer deadwood out of the club and bring in players who will contribute. That’s why it’s a long term job and it’s probably why the board have finally given it to a very experienced pragmatic manager rather than an ideologue who will come in, demand players for his system at the cost of our financial health, and then it’s all completely redundant in three years time because no one else can follow it. Ancelotti left a squad at Madrid that Zidane then won multiple trophies with. That has to be his legacy at Everton as well because until we flush out the legacy debt Koeman left us with, we can’t afford a short term fixer upper manager.

Gabriel went to Arsenal, not Barcelona. I would say that he and Godfrey are similar types of defenders, the same age, pacey and strong. Maybe different experience levels, time will tell how they mature.

Are you thinking of Malcolm? I know he was linked to Everton at one time.
