It's set-up to fail because there is zero accountability at boardroom level, hence the same old crony culture running through the club.

More obviously, the director of football is working to a brief that doesn't suit the manager's needs, which is possibly why we're struggling to beat teams whose entire XI and subs cost less per week than Bernard and Delph.

Just think the issue is depth of squad and even with one or 2 out from a first choice 11 the team struggles. Pretty sure when the fist choice 11 have been available we haven't lost.

I agree that 9 of our starting 11 are strong. Forget depth, we are still 2 top players short of having a starting 11 that would compete with the best teams.

If you think the.club is been run brilliantly from top to bottom then why are we struggling from mismanagement for years . Even since moshiri came in.

Clubs rarely finish in high positions because they have a strong starting 11 players. The squad is more important. It is true that Southampton are playing very well because they have had all players fit for most of the season, they have not suffered the repeated injuries that others have. Over the season, the quality of their squad will be tested too, in the same way that other teams have. Managers have to rotate.

Of course, adding more players to the team is obvious and will happen but I think Ancelotti can do more to motivate, organise and unite the team, to squeeze more from players who are underperforming. The best managers all do this and Ancelotti is a great manager. They turn good players into very good players and make average players better and more reliable. Calvert Lewin has improved so much and we want to see that from other players who we know can deliver better.

I think we need more too. I made that comment to highlight that even our first choice 11 isn’t good enough to compete at the top of the league even without injuries and therefore the size of the rebuild is huge and will take time.

How did you work that out? You have inside information?

I can't name my source, but I have it on good authority that the director of football keeps stocking the squad with players that managers won't use.

I could get into a lot of trouble for posting this, but none of Bernard, Kean or Iwobi have been able to get a game under either Ancelotti or Silva, and there are even rumours that neither of the two reserve full-backs are being picked at a time where both senior players are injured.
