A lot wanted Arteta, he's struggling massively, Arsenal are in a period like we have been in for 30 years, they got rid of Wenger but the grass wasn't greener at all was it.

The merry go around must stop. Ancelotti has to be given the time to build the club in his image.

It's set-up to fail because there is zero accountability at boardroom level, hence the same old crony culture running through the club.

More obviously, the director of football is working to a brief that doesn't suit the manager's needs, which is possibly why we're struggling to beat teams whose entire XI and subs cost less per week than Bernard and Delph.

That's all that will happen, we will keep going round in these circles. Another manager comes in and wants his own players, so we have to wait to sell Carlo, Silvas, Sams etc etc, it has to stop and the manager has to be left alone to rebuild the club.

We want Europa League, ffs. A manager on £11m p/a and with the likes of Richarlison, James, Digne, etc should be delivering it.

Rs, City, Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal all miles better squad than us that's 6 spots. Can give him 50m p/a, he is still picking from Gylfi, Bernard or Tom Davies to come on and change a game.

If that is all that is available who else can he pick? I know there are young players that could be given a chance, be patient.

They still have signed Party, Pepe, Aubameyang, Lacazette et all for huge money, just saying we cant expect to be top 7 because we have a load of £30-£40m players, everyone around us has them and more too including Arsenal.

So you think our team from last year is as good as this year?

Totally agree, was more we have no divine right to be competing at the top as everyone has a load of expensive players and in arsenal's case more expensive than ours. Carlo needs time to try break into the top table and it does not need to happen this season, hence he should be given time to try mould a squad, this is nowhere near his squad yet.

People need to get over the Sigurdsson captaincy thing. No one hates Sigurdsson more than me, no one, I’ve posted on here that I think he’s the worst player in Everton history and isn’t good enough for a Sunday league team. Carlo is an Italian though and they tend to give the captaincy to whoever has the highest number of games. It’s been handed around this season on exactly that basis with even Holgate picking it up at times.

His team selections say differently. He’s not in his first 11 if everyone is fit. We changed formation to 5 at the back rather than throwing him back in. He’s not even first sub off the bench if Gomes is playing ok. It was widely reported that a deal was being worked on to move Sigurdsson out. There’s rumours of new signings coming in who play in his position.

All that stuff does not point to a player Carlo values as the club captain. Rightly or wrongly captaincy is purely ceremonial for some Italian managers, it means nothing.

Actually, the captain sets the tone in a match. Lazy captain, lazy team...captain doesn't give a stuff, team doesn't give a stuff, captain points, team laughs...Have a look at when Iceland captains and when Seamus captains...intensity levels are up, concentration is on point...exactly the opposite when our set piece maestro captains. It's no coincidence that when he starts, we lose.
