Ancelotti seems to be getting points from games even when we don’t play well. That buys him time to sort out the bigger picture at Everton without the pressure of needing to stave off relegation.

That, in a nutshell, is the difference between finishing midtable and finishing in the European places, or between finishing top 4 and winning the league. The right half dozen goals are worth a dozen points in the table.

At the bottom of the table, it's often more about nicking one point here and there when outgunned, with the occasional three leavened in.

Edit: Glad to see that we're planning on going full force tomorrow with the squad, though I never doubted it. Massive game.

We don’t have an option. United are at full strength and we have Digne Allan Gbamin Delph Gomes Rodriguez missing. There’s three of our best players and first teamers in there. We don’t have any other option than to play Doucoure in midfield. We don’t have any other centrebacks left to play.

If United had Fernandes Pogba and Wan Bissaka missing and we were at full strength then I’d be more confident but once again when the big games come around for Everton we are nearly always severely depleted and our opponents are at full strength. Will be a huge task to win this game. The first 11 are dead on their feet and we have nothing off the bench to give relief to any of them.

Burnley didn't outplay us at all mate. Our Xg was like 3 times what theirs was. We controlled most of the game, but didn;t finish our chances. We gave them a stupid early goal and probably did well to claw a point back.

They are 12 from the last 6 since Tarkowski returns. Burnley away is never an easy game, and in the run they are on, it was a decent point. Not outstanding but decent.

Burnley might be a 'very simple' team in your eyes, but, football is a very simple game really.

No game is a 3 point gimme, I expected us to do better given the team we had out and the fact Burnley were really struggling to score (4 goals at the time.) They've been beaten by Newcastle, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Southampton. I just don't buy it that we can try and put a positive spin drawing against Burnley but if you do fair enough, everyone has different views.

It doesn't have to be a positive spin though, does it? It is what it is.

Is it a great result?

No, but it's not a bad result either and their recent form has highlighted that fact.
