We did, and this was rightly described as a heroic effort (which it was). We now just expect to defeat Arsenal.
Arsenal are 15th in the league, they've lost more than half their games. To an extent, yes we should expect to beat them at home. It's never that easy of course, and we did well to actually get the job done, but i'm not having it that it was some sort of unimaginable victory. You're making it sound like our improvement is complete and unarguable, but it's not. We're in a great position at the moment and if we keep this up for the next couple of months then we can talk like that. At the moment it's just a good start to the season. It's exciting, the manager and players deserve a lot of credit, but we really shouldn't be just making out like we've left all our worries behind because we've had a good 7 days.

The hard part will be just how much juice from the attacking bottle of Coleman, Digne and Rodreguez Ancelotti pours a into the current KITAP1 mixture

Burnley didn't outplay us at all mate. Our Xg was like 3 times what theirs was. We controlled most of the game, but didn;t finish our chances. We gave them a stupid early goal and probably did well to claw a point back.

They are 12 from the last 6 since Tarkowski returns. Burnley away is never an easy game, and in the run they are on, it was a decent point. Not outstanding but decent.

I do wonder where this mind set comes from. I mean have they actualy watched Everton away for lets say oh the last 15-20 years. Our away results have always been patchy to say the least. We generally have to fight for points away no matter what ground. Games are winable but not easy.
I already have sheff utd down as a potential scrap. They may have 2 points but they havent been battered in many games. Turn up thinking we already have 3 points and there is a danger we could get turned over.

How many times over the last 20 years have we beaten a big team IE City or Utd at home and then gone and lost the next game at Stoke or Burnley.

I know i'm repeating myself a bit on this theme so sorry for being boring, but I think the key is not to look at everything as black and white. I expect Sheffield United to be a scrap, I don't expect us to go there and wallop them 5-0, but truthfully we have to expect to win the game and it will be a big disappointment if we don't. They've lost 16 of their last 18 games in all competitions and the 2 they haven't have been drawn, against 2 other members of the bottom 4. It's not a given but realistically you have to see anything other than a win there as points dropped. I've seen people saying Burnley now looks like a 'good point' but I disagree. It's not a bad result to get a point there but it's not a good one either. That's what I mean about black and white. You can be disappointed and feel we should have done better, without thinking it was a disaster and the manager needs sacking.

Nah its cool mate. I just occasionally read on here some who really think we should have a devine right to win at some places.
It just isnt the case. And i find it a bit ignorant.

SOME OF THE ANCELOTTI PRE MATCH MAN UTD P/C

Digne contract

We are pleased to try and renew the contract of Digne, he is an important player for us for now, for the future.
It will not be a problem to renew his contract. He is happy with us and we are happy with him.

Gbamin update

“The truth is Gbamin is back. We want to do a proper entry for him in the squad because he had a lot of injuries so we have to take care of him
We're taking our time with Gbamin. No injury setback

James latest

James Rodriguez not available for tomorrow

Trophy or top four finish

I don't know what is best (top 4 or a trophy). Tomorrow is an important game, it is the QF of a competition that Everton have never won against a very tough opponent. It is a great opportunity.

Fernandes and Manchester United threat

I learned that if you leave space to Bruno Fernandes then you are dead - he is a fantastic player and the key point to Utd and we need to take care of this.

Fan influence

“I think the fact we play at Goodison can be an advantage. The last games with 2,000 fans was really good I think also for this reason,
because we had support

Covid protocols

“I think the protocol that the PL & Govt put in place to restart the season was really good. If they decide to be tested two times a week,
we have to do without any problem or doubt. The protocol is working because were able to play games

Cup importance

We give a lot of importance to this competition. Everton never won it. We are two games from the final so it would be fantastic to play a final if possible. We are going to put out our strongest team

Busy festive period

It's difficult but we have to adapt. For all the teams it's difficult. It's a busy period.
I think we have a squad to manage this. For all the teams it's the same

More on Manchester United

It's a team that in general did really well. Going out of the Champions League maybe affected their supporters but United are a fantastic team & won a lot of games away. Sometimes you are not able to keep the top level all the time

More on James injury

We are not concerned. We are sad because James is an important player for us but if he’s not able to play, not ready,
we cannot push him to come back. We have to wait.

James is working individually

James is working individually but has to work with the team before he can return.
