Police were called to the house in Blundellsands on Friday night after reports of the incident.


It is believed that as the men approached the home, his daughter saw them attempt to enter and disturbed them.

They then ran from the scene before police arrived at the house.

A source told the ECHO that rumours of the gang carrying knives and Ancelotti being held by armed robbers were incorrect.

He is not believed to have been home at the time of the incident and no one was injured.
