As usual, the snakes are starting to slither out.

People are allowed differing opinions aren’t they? Shouldn’t be labelled snakes if they don’t particularly find the love in for him as much as others do? To the point where he’s not allowed to be questioned?

I say that as someone who loves the man and knows we won’t get any better.

He’s not immune from criticism and should be called out on it as/when it’s deserved. Same way he’s labelled god like when we win.

I've no idea what's going on behind the scenes, but every time we're the clear favourites, we blow it hard. I'd prefer us getting 0 pts vs Leicester, Arsenal, United, Chelsea games and have a team that can routinely beat the bottom half of the table. At least that's something you can build on, you can say "we're not there with the 'big6' teams yet, but we have some consistency at least". Only thing I can say about this is that it's baffling to have such a jekyll&hyde team. When we're favourites we're afraid of our own shadows on the pitch, when there's no pressure/expectations of 3 points, we deliver.

What I'm saying is, you don't need a full team of race-track horses. It's fine to have a slow Gomes, slow Siggy, slow James, as long as the pacy players do their job. And then the unexplainable happens, Gomes can't pass to the guy that's 1 meter away from him, or if he's passing in to space he's passing half the pitch away from our nearest player. Douc or Davies can't tackle the ball away to save their lives, Siggy lost in translation, James doing god knows what. Playing like they just came from the local pub and each had 10 pints.

we don’t have any pacy player in midfield to cover siggy James Gomes and davies. No player in the history of football is capable of such feat. This is the main problem today, we simply can’t win the ball back.

Anyone saying Carlo is the problem here is a bedwetter of the highest order.

Carlo has a decent first 11 to choose from and nothing beyond that. The players are so inconsistent on top of that so it makes it impossible for him to be able to rely on a certain standard one game to the next.

Carlo needs to be given free rein for the next few years to do as he sees fit. Honestly what is the alternative, we sack him and get Eddie Howe in?

Just saying the rotation is too frequent and we should keep the four cb when we are winning games and conceded very little.

Well you dont play Coleman.

Then you automatically have a big lad in the centre.

In midfield you go 3 centrally and dont ask doucoure to appear in right midfield...

Kind of the opposite to Gomes, Sigurdsson and James.
So you've named 3 players not to play and suggested replacing them with 1 player who already was playing. You see what I'm saying?

Maybe it is knee jerk.. maybe I’m just mad after the most embarrassing I’ve ever seen... but I have to ask.. the question that’s been rolling around since about November...

watching us get lucky against Arsenal and Chelsea along the way that seemed to justify the anti football we throw out every week. I hated those wins.. thanks for the three points but was this the new Everton? Was this what I would have to endure every week? Every win would just mean more of the same.. Fans argued that is a great defensive performance against good sides.. truth: we got lucky.

Then we dish up the same against Leeds, Leicester.. basically play as if we scared of every team that walks into the pitch.. they’re faster, more skilled, we only have player X or Y... whatever excuse we could come up with to justify dishing up anti football week in and week out.. hoping that 15 minutes a game we could turn it on and get something out.
Well it worked on occasion.. especially against better teams that had zero respect for us.. the lesser teams still played like we could hurt them but realised all you have to do is press and run at the midfield. So they are much tougher as they didn’t let themselves get too loose.

keep them out and nick one.. from Utd, to Leicester, to Leeds and Fulham. Do we not believe that players individually costing over £20m across the pitch can’t string 2 passes together at pace?
Can these players not receive the ball under pressure and look to move forward?
Why does our midfield not show for the ball? Why do we literally pass from the opposing third all the way back to our keeper without getting the ball into the box?

I can’t get my head around any of those questions.. I have often moaned about every one of those points during the matches but let it go after. I keep hope that we waiting on this player or that.. that those moments of inspiration during mostly rubbish games will ignite the team to believe in themselves and to attempt to play football .. not this absolute embarrassment of anti football we dish up every single week.

I say it every game.. I believe we are better than the play they dish up. Which leads me back to the tactics and team psychology.
Which leads me back to Carlos.

and the question.. is Carlos just a better groomed version of Sam Allardyce.. I can’t shake the question that no matter who we have in our 11... this is what we have to look forward to. Negative, slow, lethargic football until they score or we get lucky.

Rant over. I normally just hide in The Ale House thread till my cloud dissipates .. this time I had to get it off my chest.
