2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

Anyone saying Carlo is the problem here is a bedwetter of the highest order.

Carlo has a decent first 11 to choose from and nothing beyond that. The players are so inconsistent on top of that so it makes it impossible for him to be able to rely on a certain standard one game to the next.

Carlo needs to be given free rein for the next few years to do as he sees fit. Honestly what is the alternative, we sack him and get Eddie Howe in?

When the players do well and put in the level of performance we expect Carlo is lauded as great and godlike when the players perform badly it’s not his fault and it’s all the players fault. It’s a mixture of both. These players are bottlers it’s nothing new. But the system just wasn’t working today and changes for me should have been made at half time. Also taking Davies off and giving Atrocious Gomes the full 90mins despite him being non existent was not justified. He’s always banging the drum about spirit and character and Davies was certainly giving us that first half as opposed to Atrocious Gomes.

I love the man and I trust him but I think he needs to work on a better game plan when coming up against lesser teams that play with a lot of high intensity and press most of the game.

If that makes people cry because I’ve questioned his management today and in the other games than I’m sorry but that’s just the way I see it.

I agree that the players are shocking and it’s the same abject performances against teams that on paper at least we should be winning
Pace is everything in this league. But we lack it all over the pitch
Been saying this for years but Everton never do anything about this. Carlo has had a shocker tonight. When I saw the team I knew what would happen. Not good enough

Agreed.

Look at all the clubs near the top of the leagues around the world. Their recruitment is focused on fast, mobile and athletic players because:

1. Ability to run at defence, open space.
2. Ability to quickly press.
3. Ability to quickly link up.
4. Counter attack.

We have bought or have the likes of Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Williams, Davies, Gomes, Keane, Mina who have crippled us over the past 3-4 years.

we don’t have any pacy player in midfield to cover siggy James Gomes and davies. No player in the history of football is capable of such feat. This is the main problem today, we simply can’t win the ball back.
Let me put it this way, we shouldn't be losing the ball to a press of relegated team. No matter what the opinion on Siggy&Gomes is on this forum, they're 2 levels above anyone on Fulham's team. They should've been able to beat that press with simple 1-2 touch all day long, just like James did tonight on a few occasions, and run rings around Fulham players. Not saying James played good, but he did effectively beat their press a few times and took out 2 players at a time from the game.

I mean, I'd understand if we played vs City or L'pool and got pressed to oblivion and Siggy&Gomes not being able to cope, but against bloody Fulham. C'mon mate. They couldn't cope against carthorses pressing them.

People aren't calling for his head ffs. We're frustrated and angry after ANOTHER appalling performance against a team we should have been looking for 3 points from and are wanting answers as to why. And part of that, in my view, is Carlo.

Doesn't mean we're not delighted to have him at the club and he clearly needs some more time to mould the team into his vision but yes, I think he was partly to blame tonight along with the utterly pathetic lack of effort from the players.

We've made the same mistakes yet again and paid the price yet again. We had warning sign after warning sign in the first half and not a single thing was done to change it. It's hardly unreasonable to ask questions of the management and team selection.

What about this? We sack him and recruit a consortium of experts from GOT?

All week ive been saying we need to go for power against Fulham...

Not to play James...

Instead we go for a powderpuff midfield...

Doucoure and Davies should be central at all times...made no sense why Doucoure was suddenly out on the right for long stretches

He got his only midfield runner to basically cover James. We all know that doesn't work.

Doesn't help the fact while he's doing that, Davies, Gomes and Sigurdsson are doing zero. Can't run with the ball, not close the the lone striker, can't tackle, don't close down quick enough.

Just a mess

People are allowed differing opinions aren’t they? Shouldn’t be labelled snakes if they don’t particularly find the love in for him as much as others do? To the point where he’s not allowed to be questioned?

I say that as someone who loves the man and knows we won’t get any better.

He’s not immune from criticism and should be called out on it as/when it’s deserved. Same way he’s labelled god like when we win.

Spot on.

This "Carlo" is god mentality is utterly stupid. Some of the blokes here it seems would rather have Everton become garbage week in week out but be happy cos its Carlo setting them up and not Silva/Koeman.

What about this? We sack him and recruit a consortium of experts from GOT?

Or we stick with him and hope he works on a better game plan to stop teams like Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle, & Leeds pressing us into submission with no response?

Would be the best option.

Nobody is calling for his head. People are raising concerns. He’s not above reproach. Questions have been asked of him and rightly so. In the same way when he sets us up against better teams and changes it so we play well he’s lauded as the second coming.
