Carlo is a pragmatist who wants to win and be defensively sound. He's not Guardiola or Bielsa (thankfully). He enjoyed that 1 nil a lot because it will breed confidence.

I dont know why people are surprised with Carlo's gameplan. Its not like he's new to football. He's won 13 out of 25 league games so far so he's doing something right. If we can win another 7 games we'll definitely get Europe.

Leeds, Wolves, Southampton, Fulham all plying better football than us with brilliant managers who have a philosophy. It’s an absolute mystery they’re all in the bottom half.

Just a reminder that the bloke won 2-0 at Anfield for our first win there since 1999. He’a currently got a win % of over 50, he’s taken a squad that had 15 points from 15 games and has immediately put them into European form.

Tonight was a grim performance to watch at times but ultimately a huge win .

We have had a bit of everything this season. Start of the season we were playing some great stuff, seen glimpses of it again in some games (Fulham away , wolves, spurs in the cup) managed to grind out some great results (arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester) and then a couple of absolute howlers thrown in as well...

Squad is clearly short of quality in some areas but tonight was a huge win - if we can go on a consistent run now then sky’s the limit. Beat West Brom and then a huge game v Chelsea.
