Celtic or Rangers?

Nebbiolo

Valuation: £108 million
Which one?

I suppose I'd go for Celtic, mostly due to there being a little bit of a tie-in with Everton. But when I lived in Scotland, I knew a lot of Rangers supporters that were great people.

I think I'd pick Aberdeen overall in Scotland, though. And maybe Hibs in Edinburgh. Never taken to Hearts.

So, come on Celtic, Aberdeen and Hibs. (y)

Celtic for me, there my second team.

Out of the two, you would say Celtic were more culturally similar to Everton; that is, neither is part of the British establishment. Rangers and Liverpool really are establishment teams. You'll see more union flags at 1 game for Rangers and Liverpool then you'd see in a century at Celtic and Everton.

Not saying that is bad, just that it's not the Everton way.

i have an Everton Union Jack, how are we not part of the establishment, and how do we have a tie-in with Celtic ? i've always wondered why they said that and why we were called the catholic team, i suppose thats the link but why on earth would we be classed as catholic ? i'd like to see one of their derbies but tbh dont like either, i liked Rangers until last may as i dont like the politics of the celtic fans, but now hope they both go bust.

I suppose it is down to personal experience, mate. I was brought up in the 70s and 80s with the view that Celtic/Everton = Catholic. But then later I was surprised to learn that this was, in reality, not the actual case at all, at least not from Everton's perspective (obviously it is from Celtic's). But still in my mind, I make that catholic connection to Everton. It's ingrained into me.

Not starting anything sectarian here. I'm an atheist and have catholic and protestant roots (as well as a bit more). So religion can do one as far as I'm concerned.

I was always led to believe that it was Celtic/Liverpool and Rangers/Everton. Not really sure. Of the two I tend to prefer Rangers, not really for any particular reason though and I don't follow Scottish football now.

Interestingly, for Danny at least, I searched on Google to see if this had any grounding, and this thread was in 6th place already :)
