Everton are reportedly willing to listen to offers worth €20 million for Cenk Tosun this summer, and Italian interest is gathering, but should the club let the forward leave?

According to claims from Calciomercato, Serie A pair Fiorentina and Lazio are interested in signing the Turkish attacker ahead of next season, as his future at Goodison Park continues to come under scrutiny.

According to claims from Calciomercato, Serie A pair Fiorentina and Lazio are interested in signing the Turkish attacker ahead of next season, as his future at Goodison Park continues to come under scrutiny.

Don’t think it’s a case of should we let him go, he needs to go,the Turkish league is on par with the Scots. He seems a willing lad however his ability is limited, I wish him all the best, but just not a premier league forward.

It was proposed that homesickness was an issue earlier in this thread. I recall responding to the claim by telling the forum how Ross Pottinger blubbered his eyes out on a camp trip to Ngaruwahia back in the early 70s. So homesickness is a real thing. Having said that, Ross (or Potty as we nicknamed him) was an overweight lump*to begin with so I don’t think homesickness could be blamed for his snail-like speed.

*Mrs Pottinger made the best school lunches...which probably contributed to Potty’s rotundity.

Sorry, you`re very wrong about Bent.

Moyes got him super fit and he harried defenders and chased every lost ball up front.

He wasn`t the best striker to pull on a blue shirt, but he was instrumental in us getting a Champs League spot that year.

Bear in mind he only cost £750K too.

Moyes made one his biggest mistakes as our manager the following season, by replacing him with Beattie. As Beattie just didn`t have the legs to play that lone runner role.

I think Beattie and Johnson looked like a potentially proper strike duo but we were not playing the system for that unfortunately

I have sympathy for homesickness for people from Southern Europe or South America, coming to the North of England, because the culture is so different. Being holed up in a massive mansion in Cheshire is obviously nice but these guys thrive on a rich social life, meeting family often and being outside often. It must be a big culture shock for most of them.
Anyway whatever the reason is Tosun hasn't quite worked out, and isn't the type of player to suit Silva. Hopefully with him, Besic, Walcott, all of the players who have juts been at the wrong place at the wrong time with EFC we just send them off happily and cheer them when they come back!
