We’ve spent something like £300m+ in two years and our opinions are: Tosun, Niassé and DCL. Horrific.

Well I can't defend him after today. Needs to benched. And we need to sign another top striker come January.
His options being average made him lazy and also an average player mind set. Needs to feel his place is not guaranteed.
Hopefuly the brand new striker, Cenk and DCL (I don't rate Niasse at all) would be a good rotation for us. Cenk is a fighter and he wouldnt moan or anything if an addition has been made. He can score coming in after 70minutes no problem. He can fight, he knows PL is about challenge. Great work ethics as well. But he is struggling with the pressure now being the lone option (also i think some personal problems) so not effective at all.
But people sayig he is not a footballer or a terrible one needs to calm down. We won't win anything by destroying him. He would be a great rotation forward for Everton, let's not break him shall we? He gave us good goals last season to avoid relegation concerns, he doesn't deserve all this insults IMO

I do not think DCL will improve much more.
Get midfield sorted next then perhaps look at shipping these forwards out for better quality.

With Bernard now playing, put Richy or Theo in the striker's position for a couple of games and see how it goes.
He doesn't deserve his wages when he misses 3 sitters and stands there like a statue.

But he is the same guy who scored difficult goals last season with a worse and defensive minded manager, nothing happend to his skills.
No wonder he is in slump, he is not himself, very angry, under pressure but he is a talented forward (I don't think he is a proper lone striker btw, needs link up play) so I think he is someone that would give wonders being in the bench in the long run. Let's bench him for a while, 3-4 games, then let's see him again playing with Richy-Bernard-Walcott behind all fit. And if he fails to score again, we will have chances to add someone there in January.
He didn't say "I will be your first option coming on Everton, right?" It is us blame making him our only proper option. So I don't blame him. His style is not similar of Lukaku. And we knew it. I repeat, lets give him some break, see again with a full squad, if not a bench player with the new striker.

Many have argued that his hold up play is good, and that he does well in the air.
Today’s game is proof that he lacks massively in that target man role. He provides finishing and that is all. Which is fine coming off the bench.
Our first team CF needs to have that clinical finishing and also do one of the following: hold up possession as a target man, stretch the defense getting behind, or create space to get his shot off with the ball at his feet.

I want to support him because he has shown reasonable finishing in the past. But he lacks any sort of mobility. And I will never accept a lethargic effort like that where he stood in the same place and made no efforts to hurt their defence. He needs to work hard and that's two games in a row he hasn't broken sweat. It's not acceptable regardless of how bad his team mates are playing.
We've spent well over £20m on a guy to play as a striker instead of DCL or Niasse... but DCL is better and now only gets game time out on the wing, where we know he is not effective.
Our options up front are woeful. Only DCL merits a place in the squad, and even then only as a sub. Tosun and Niasse are the sort of players Bolton used to collect in the late '90s for £2m each.
