Probably in the minority, but I don’t think this is a good deal, unless there is a mandatory buy clause. Why loan him to a club above us, a direct rival for a place in the league which is probably worth more in prize money than the loan fee. It also leaves us with only DCL and Kean as out and out strikers, although Richy seems more likely to start up front than out wide now. I know people will say good to get him off the wage bill to bring others in, but just like Oumar, he will be back in a few months and back on it, limiting the more important summer window.

Oumar came back cuz he was rubbish, so they found out, Cenk is much better at footy than him, at least dude has CL goals in his name against teams like Napoli and Porto. Will do well there and then offers will come from teams like Werder Bremen and Schalke, Germany will be his next permanent country imo, hist birthplace, lots of contacts there

I actually think Tosun can be a quite good striker in the right team (type 10-12 goals a season if utilized correctly).

*yes, yes, i'll get my coat..... :)

Yes, bought him from Crewe in 87 or 88. Stayed until 92/93. Met him once. Top bloke.
I also worked in Wellesley Road (in the offices above the Whitgift Centre) from 78-81.
Yeah that was a cracking team, Wright, Bright and Salako up front and Nigel Martin in goal. Who was the massive CB you had at the time?

We are in deep FFP trouble and won't be able to do anything in the transfer market unless we ease pressure on the wage bill.

Translation? We are desperate...

Eric Young who partnered Andy Thorn. John Pemberton at RB. Richard Shaw LB. Andy Gray(no, the other one) partnering Geoff Thomas in centre mid Eddie McGoldrick and Salako wide with Wright & Bright twin strikers. Not forgetting Pardew and Dave Madden on the bench. Finished third in 90/91. Not the best players we've ever had but definitely the best team.

That'd win the bloody league and CL that side of it was playing now.
