I hope we have an incoming imminent as regardless of Tosun not succeeding here, we have a lack of striking options as it is. Kean hasn't settled and DCL hasn't got me convinced yet that he can score regularly and not just in streaks.

For that To happen he will need to score substantially more than 2 league goals which would be about his Current average strike rate

will be back at FF in August. We are still paying the likes of Garbutt and Besic ffs.

His current rate is just over 1 in 4.

You could be right, i am open minded though, hes shown good form for Turkey, willing here in limited opportunities not sure hes a had a run of say 3-4 starting on the trot since 2018 and if he got regular game time, confidence and momentum he could do well, they have a lovely run after the next two.

A big role for Palace may be occupying defenders, providing a focal point and freeing up Zaha and Townsend.

I’d actually rather have the Eagle up front.

Hopefully he will become a force to be reckoned with at Palace, score loads of goals and then we will have him back in the summer after they have fixed him. ;) :D

Exactly - we simply should NEVER loan out our awful players; clubs then see how bad they are! We could have got £10m for Mirallas, £15m for Bolasie and actual english pounds (albeit about £50,000) for Cuco Martina. Sell, take the hit and get them off the books. Wages are more important than the fee. We will have paid Cuco £5.5m by the end of June. Made him a mult-millionaire and he doesn't know the rules of football and 90% of his throw-ins are actually foul-throws!

Wages more important than fee, then you rue the fact we didn’t get fees whilst getting a % or his wages paid! Mirallas, for example, was on loan for about 15 years on various loans. We we’re getting loan fees AND saving on a large percentage of his wages. The 10m fee you mention for him, I wouldn’t have thought we’d be that far off that when the loan fees and wages saved were added up through the terms of the various loans. How’d you know we could have got 10m for him Anyway? We probably could have done but his wage demands obviously put an end to that. Both, player and club have to agree for him to move on or he sits on his contract.
Selling isn’t as easy as you think though and loaning players is sometimes the only solution because we give silly contracts. Not many players are gonna give up 100k contract when other clubs may only pay half that, so loan is the only option to get some of them wages back. Sandro? Bolasie? Mirallas? Probably Siggy all fall into that bracket. Do you really think that if a player is not wanted we wouldn’t do whichever is financially the best? We may be really badly run but something as simple as taking a fee (if the player agrees) or sending someone on loan. I trust the club to choose whichever is financially more viable.

Suppose that was a long winded way of saying that if we could have got 10m, do you not think we would have? I don’t think we’re that badly run whereby we say no to millions and then send them on loan!
