But I think it'd be enormously helpful if he said something similar.

It’s not impossible he would come out with something like this given German football’s very clear position on this and how they treat their fans. Wait and see I guess.

No plenty of Mancs and Kopites are not happy in my anecdotal world and ready to walk away...

And reading their fan groups there is a firm nope building. There is such a a thing as too much of a good thing, first season ok then gloss of playing these big teams regularly will wear thin.

It's got nothing to do with fans, or football as a sport. It's all about certain football businesses protecting it's brands and investments, at the expense of others.

The vast majority won't walk away. They will threaten it, might even swerve a season or two but they will be back. Look at the Utd fans with the green and gold scarves. They wore scarves to protest but still went the game and spent their money.
