Champions League revamp

Fair play to Gary Neville coming across very well here bearing in mind he’s a massive United fan.

My only concern is if this ESL is binned, what will the cost be? A closed shop Champions League format? Where certain teams are guaranteed to get in even if they don’t get in the top four?
What is the point of it all.

That was proposed a way by uefa, from the 2024 season there will be 2 places in the champions league reserved for teams with high historical performance in the competition who did not qualify, but qualified for europa league or europa conference. So like if Liverpool finished 7th and it was a Europa place, they would be bumped up to champions league

Everton, villa, newcastle, Leeds, West Ham.
Biggest fan bases.
I wouldn’t watch newcastle v West Ham in normal circumstances
But if they were fighting for the league title?

I would. I think people underestimate the appeal of genuine competition. We haven't had it in so long. It's why an episode of the Big Match Revisited is more attractive than a new episode of Match of the Day for many. The quality is much lower, but the overall spectacle is far more wholesome and enjoyable.

I missed it, what did Neville say about that godawful dirge they listen to?

yesterday he said that a club that had that as an anthem was shameful for organising this; Klopp twice said today that the anthem is theirs and so Neville shouldn't mention it
