You’re 100% the same as me then mate. I’m not particularly arsed now, any Everton game is on my iPad while I’m doing something else rather than getting my whole attention.

If this goes the distance and lasts (which it probably will) then I’ll be done with football and that’ll be that. The sports done for anyone of a certain age and of a certain mindset.

I feel the opposite. I'm glad my team aren't part of this. Football will go on and Everton will go on. Yeah this will hurt us badly but thats preferable to being involved in something which is morally wrong.

Even if PL did let them stay how would it work if they finished 1st - 8th? They obviously cant compete in CL so do they just get taken out of the equation and the top 4 (minus them) get CL?

Thats not going to work. The PL are cornered now. If they get kicked out of the league too then they are up s**t street and it literally will be a 1 league season with 1 trophy and no promotion/ relegation - it will become boring fast.

Teams like Arsenal, Liverpool etc wont care if they finish last every season because its guaranteed £££

But they will after a while. Without relegation or promotion it becomes a void competition, there’s nothing in it. After 5 years it’ll be dead on its arse

It all depends on how much solidarity the rest of football act with - if it’s as it’s been today, I think this might end up positively.

However if someone (the PL) rolls over for these scumbags then yes the sport is over.

All it takes is for one of the leagues to roll over. Social media and its armchair fans and the nu-media will do the rest.

Never thought I'd ever say this, but I actually feel sorry for the Kopites (the genuine ones, not the glory hunters)
I'm Evertonian through and through. If we were ever to be relegated to the National League North, I would still be going the games and giving my support.
I swear to god however that if Everton ever became a part of something like this, I would cut them out of my life without a second thought.

Feel for any genuine fan, even those lot. Its the plastics and foreign audience that matter to these owners as they bring in the ££

I’m guessing they’ll be able to cancel their contracts as they’ll have incentives for league games which they’ll no longer have.

Surely it’s unlikely that key players will be able to walk away from contracts free from consequence. Whether or not they’d want to is another matter too. The World Cup is such a huge event, I think there will be a compromise that sees all players able to compete. After all, the likes of Messi and Ronaldo did not choose this, but they are bound to their teams. Can you imagine a World Cup without them?

The “big six” should be given an ultimatum, play in the PL and go with the new CL format (which is already favourable to the big clubs) or disappear into this super league and become a bunch of Harlem globe trotters who have no real soul or understanding of the common man wanting to see their hometown team.

god knows we have taken regular bartering off Liverpool but I wouldn’t want a system where we rarely played each other and I doubt the RS fans would either.

this is pure greed from the boardrooms and they should be punished as severely as possible for trying to do this to football. If we can’t ban them from the PL then they get a huge points deduction and get relegated to the championship or whatever.

They are contravening UEFA and FIFA rules through setting up a competition outside of their governance.

Nah - the money will make it worth their while. The owners will get out of it exactly what want... billions of pounds. Shame they are ignoring over a hundred years of history, the very people who made the clubs what they are today, and just the fact it's all been done behind people's backs and against Premier League rules is a kin disgrace. Kick the six out of English domestic football immediately.

Totally agree on booting them out, and if they are all kicked from their respective leagues I think the whole thing falls flat before it even starts. They are arrogant enough to believe that they can have their own protected midweek money earner and carry on as normal, I just hope that UEFA, PL, etc hold firm.
