Championship 2024/25

Just flicking through the channels and seeing Oxford United triggered some vague Panini album related memory of them being a top flight side. After checking they were indeed and won a League Cup as well.

Sadly denied their place in European competition through no fault of their own and never hit those heights since.
Oxford, Luton, Wimbledon and Coventry all won silverware in that era

Something funny in social media admins posting funny stuff in the run up to a big game, especially a local or big rivalry and have it blow up in their faces. Case in point our blow up snake waving friends at Watford putting up a disparaging video about Lutonlona hours before today’s game, only for the Hatters to be 2-0 up with 4 mins+ left

Yeah, they have won 2 of the last 3 (I think) and sit in 17th but are only 4 points off top half but its not happening for them this season for whatever reason. Its a shame as I like Cov, they do good work in the market and always have a few interesting players.
They have started slowly the last couple of seasons and recovered from it in a similar situation to this season.
Penalty kick away from the Premier League last season
You factor in the players they have lost last couple of years in Gyokores, Hamer & O'Hara its a very very harsh sacking.

Simms not been available last couple of games, wonder if a possible falling out could be central to that decision.

Wasn't Penalty kick way from Prem season before last year?

And an FA Cup semi final (something we can only dream of). I always liked Mark Robbins as a manager, struck as a good sort. Strange decision IMO and one that may well come back to haunt them. Don't think it'll be too long before he pops up somewhere else.

I was just reading the chairman's explanation of why he sacked him,he does mention that they got a false sense of security regards how good they are after beating Everton 3-0 in the pre season friendly😃
