2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

Has talent, but not completely 100% convinced. Is he effective? As in goals and assists and leading counters? Hasn’t had chance to show it with a run of games in the middle. But Onana was uber talented but had almost zero affect on scorelines (other than losing midfield runners).

Need to be sure he affects results in the way Illy does. Lindstrom has load of talent but can’t unlock it to make any difference.

I want him to turn out good, and would trigger the bargain price anyway as we could probably sell him immediately for 5mill profit. And we need more exciting players with a bit of vision.

Totally anonymous. Can’t understand the ‘love’.
When you don't receive many passes there isn't a lot he can do. When on the ball he is quite creative and looking for positive passing. He is one of very few we have that does that. I am sure Moyes will be telling players to get the ball to him and Ndiaye as soon as possible. They carry basically our only threats

He can carry the ball at pace. Something nobody else can really do. Has to be playing in the 10 though. Wasted out wide.

Playing number 10 in our team is a really tough ask. Full backs don't provide enough in terms of options so the whole attack just ends up looking isolated and easy to mark.

Having said that I hope he gets a run in the last few games. Better than the alternatives.

Thought he was unlucky to leave instead of Doucoure tonight. Understand why you might want Doucoure's energy in the team, but why not drop Doucoure deeper and play Alcaraz as the 10?
I'd honestly rather drop Doucouré, play Alcaraz in the attacking midfield position just off the striker and bring Ndiaye in on the left wing. Maybe bring Iroegbunam in for Garner while we're at it?
