This. We have a team that works with Dom at the 9, even when he’s not scoring himself he provides the focal point. So much better to have a reasonable facsimile as backup than a guy who is 5’4”. Che can hold the ball up and he can convert a tap-in from a cross which are two things that Maupay can’t.

In terms of height they are similar, Adams is 5ft 9 Maupay is 5 ft 8.

When I was a kid we were playing Stuart Barlow Brett angell Michael branch John spencer and others I don’t if you can call it a slip when it’s been happening for 30 years or more I’m nearly 40 and I don’t think there’s ever been a time when players like adams weren’t getting a game for Everton in that time.

Of late he's around a goal every four or so games if he signed next week and stayed fit that's eight maybe nine this season. Couple of those would probably be in cup comps against lower division sides, so we are still around the bottom three. Hope we can find better
