The ball was fizzed into him. Owen was one of the most deadly poachers in the business and he thought Lukaku was just unlucky.
Spot on.

I remember Jerzy Dudek making an amazing save in the CL final, but it wasShevchenko hitting it straight at him, it's not that easy, reactions are everything, and Cech pulled off a truly world class save.

Gutted. Deserved a point with how well we defended, only conceded through a jammy deflection which Howard would have saved if he wasn't unsighted by 2 players.

Our midfield looked sharper and more mobile with McCarthy. I'm still not sure how Cech kept Lukaku's shot out.

1 defeat in 5 and only conceded twice in those games, both to the 2 top teams in the league. Hopefully we'll show what we can do up front against Leicester.

When going to Chelsea I presume we would be set up as a counter attacking team maybe playing 2 of the quickest players in the league Lennon and mirallas. Instead we play half counter attack and half no man's land by playing naismith and barkley together. It doesn't work. Big rom touch was poor tonight and their keeper made a great save but I think we could have worried Chelsea a bit more with a different line up

So your telling me your surprised we came under pressure a lot away from home to the best team in the country

I'm telling you we added to that pressure by not giving ourselves many options on the counter attack. The best team in the country were missing their two best players this season, we didn't need to have everybody behind the ball.

We have one chant that mentions the word "history" once.

That's a lot different to a scathing attack on all Chelsea fans telling them that they have no history at all. (which is exactly what the team across the park does to City, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and every other team bar United.)

If you're telling me that's the only reference we ever make to our history- or that's how much we value it, fine. I like the Liverpool fan comparison though, thanks for that. I'm entitled to have my own opinion on Chelsea, sorry if that offends! ;)

Played really well and against a very good team. Lots of positives. Looking forward to bern now. COYB
We didn't play well though, and while Chelsea are a very good team they we're playing badly and without imagination. We defended well, agreed, but with the honourable exceptions of 3 of our back 4 (Coleman was awful on the ball) we made mistake after mistake. Those 5 seconds near the end during which 3 different players sliced their attempted clearances epitomised just how dreadful we are on the ball.

With our generous fixtures theirs no way we don't stay up .

We have dropped so many points when we all thought we would win games. This mentality needs to stop. We are in a relegation fight, it's really simple: we hav won 2 of our last 16 games. That is something to worry about, contrary to what some people on here patronisingly insist.

Really? All I've seen is us parking the bus in every game. We've scored 1 goal in the last 4 games ffs. He has managed to turn us from a team consistently in the top 7, to a team who is only 5 points off the relegation zone with only 13 games left.
He also got our highest points total ever last season. We where decimated by injuries and individual mistakes and now we're looking to slowly rebuild that confidence.
