Not just the results, our performance as a team is chalk and cheese now to what it was a month ago. Guess we need to get a couple of wins to relax everyone though.

December aside were we went on the horror run we had only been beaten twice in 18 games previous to the Spurs game

I thought Barry's first yellow was for a very soft challenge. The ref was handing Chelsea free kicks for falling over and Everton yellows for being too close to a Chelsea player. Chelsea harrassment of the ref at the end was a disgrace. But looking on the bright side, considering most people thought we would get murdered and would have settled for a draw, we only dropped 1 point.

Apart from the fact that he slapped the ball to their goalscorer, rather than caught or cleared it

While I'd normally agree with you (because one of the things that really annoys me about Howard is his lack of catching the ball) there were quite a few players in the way and if he went for the catch and dropped it, it would be a certain goal. With the referee being as he was, I wouldn't have counted on him to call a foul on Howard.[/QUOTE]
He should have cleaned everyone out like Joel did a few matches back. I know it's harsh as he did play well but it's the fine margins. Joel is a better keeper.

I think we have a very good chance. We dismantled Wolfsburg and I can see us doing similar to any other continental team. It is Liverpool and Spurs who will cause us problems so I'm hoping we avoid them (until the final at least).

To be honest though, I am just relieved we have put relegation fears behind us
'Dismantled Wolfsburg'? Behave lad.

You can't be serious mate, we are five points off it ffs

He looks like a completely different player this year. He looks slow.

The ball is a hot potato, he can't get rid of it quick enough, it saddens me it really does. The kid has all the ability in the world but he has to sacrifice that ability for the good of the team.

Well I for one wish he would just do his thing because as a footballer he excites me, as just one of the team he fades.

I tell you why I am unhappy.

Our record signing missed what I consider to be a sitter.

Then with three minutes to go our whole team gets involved in a fracas which leads to the magnificent concentration we showed all through the game being broken, the worst example of a card collector we have ever had at the club is sent off and voila....the inevitale late gial is conceeded.

Yes we were a touch unlucky to lose.....but we didn't need to lose there tonight.

No matter how much money they burned on players.

Agree with you about zeurooe though......plal like that in Berne and we have a chance.
In fairness. It's just a point. I don't think it's going to matter too much in this season. The performance was more important.

We have one defeat in our last 5 games and have played City/Liverpool and Chelsea

Villa have lost 5 of there last 5

QPR have lost 3 of the last 5

Burnley lost 4 of the last 5

Leicester 4 out of the last 5

Sunderland 3 defeats

Hull 3

We are slowly getting a bit of form back, We are defending well and look like a team, Those other sides are bouncing from one defeat to the next

Do you not see the problem with that post? We've gone from comparing our results with utd, spurs and arsenal to using hull, villa and burnley as our benchmark.

The fact is that 2 wins in 16 games is simply not good enough.
