why are people saying things like this?

we weren't expecting anything, 1 point max. plenty of winnable games left, any points we drop in the 3 pointers are what will cost us if we drop them, not this 1 point.
No offence mate but that post sounds like something off RAWK in one of them weird alternate league threads or something.

They appear to have an anti-Everton agenda, genuinely believe that. Absolutely shocking analysis & punditry whenever we're involved. Thank christ I decided not to pay for a subscription at the start of the season.

Any station with David James, Michael Owen, and Neil Warnock as pundits aren't to be taken seriously.

That's not really what I'd take from the game. It's exactly what I expected. We gave Chelsea a good test but in the end lacked the quality to really hurt them.

That's been the story for a long time now.
I understand that it's been happening a lot, but it just shows how close we are to being a solid & consistent top 4 team. Next year I'm really confident that with the right signings we will become more clinical

Our appalling transfer window is coming back to haunt us time and time again. Our back 7 Howard thru McCarthy and Barry is a match for any one in the league. However it is painful to watch our lack of ability in the final third. Miralles at least offers something going forward with his pace, but I'll be amazed if Piennar and Osman are anywhere near the starting 11 next year as they offer so little going forward. Martinez badly mis judged the talent and depth in our squad with the window just gone. Unfortunately we are now paying the price for it.

I'll be surprised if they aren't in and around the starting XI next year. We just haven't got the funds available to replace them with better players. Both of them are decent enough, they just aren't at the level of players other teams around us have at their disposal.

We played a decent game. If there is something we need to be worried about it's Barkley. It's not that he's not fit, it was a mental problem today. He wasn't focused, losing easy balls.

Take a level of spending we've never seen before unfortunately.

I reckon in the summer we need to be looking at a real top quality striker and using most of the money to secure him. We really need someone in the Suarez mould who is nippy, great with the ball, and above all else a genuine goalscorer. Negredo, in hindsight, could've been awesome for us.

I knew from half time that this was going to be Spurs all over again.

Call Chelsea 'jammy' all you want, but when teams are there for the taking we simply MUST capitalise - that's the difference between us and the top teams.

Mate teams like Chelsea today are only there for the taking because we make it look that way. Its a compliment to Everton that we made the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd look less than average. Our play made them look that way, they just don't become bad against us.
