I've even said about four 'in times - if we want Unsworth, don't trial the man, give it to him.

But at least let's judge him by the same standards as any Everton manager.

If people can't see that Chelsea just stood off us in the second half, and we still managed less shots than against Lyon and Brighton, I can't help them.

This is not Orly vs Unsworth. This is me thinking 'that was more utter crap from Everton and I'm very worried about it'.
How many shots did Lyon get against us, btw? And Arsenal?

And yeah, they did, as have we before, but with 0 success. As we have, this season, with very, very, very little success, under Koeman. It's part of the game, it's a plan. Would you be as unhappy and pissy if we'd scored a goal?

I don't like the trialing part too, it's a bit disrespectful, but at least stick with the man. "Treated like every Everton manager" my arse - EVERY one of our managers has gotten a run of games to prove themselves, people started laying into Rhino before a ball had even been kicked FFS!

Huge fan of yours MaccaFrandel, it's good that we can have debate

Amen to that Brother Orly

I think it's healthy that we aren't all singing from the same page, some folk see 100% improvement, some folk see 10% and feel more frustration.

Onwards and upwards from here mate, fwiw I don't think Unsworth will be given the job full time UNLESS their top 2 targets aren't interested ( whoever they are ) which is why i don't think he's been given it outright yet but I think will have been told ( win 4/5 games on the spin and we may have to rethink our strategy ).

I'm more than happy for him overseeing things and if he does great well thats great and if he doesn't it certainly won't be through lack of effort on his part

I personally don't think he's getting it permanently. I think they'd have announced it by now. Hopefully because we're talking to someone.
But, being Everton, we'll get binned off by our targets, then he'll get it full time, being the only choice...

That's what happens when you've been an Everton fan for a while, 'cynicism' it just happens.
Agree with you though.

Our big problem was fitness in Lennon & McCarthy who cost us 2 subs but how did Koeman mess this up.

Play players in the right place, don’t over complicate the formation and fight.

That’s is the minimum we expect

As mediocre as he's been, it would have been nice to see Gylfi played in the No.10 tonight

I'm praying we're talking to someone. Has to be the only explanation surely...?
Nothing against Unsworth, just think this is too massive for him at this point in time.

I've only seen one person lay into him, and that was over a personal grievance.

We did score a goal. Niasse causing havoc and forcing a defensive mistake for the second match in a row.

If Koeman had put that starting line up out - and apart from Beni (he'd have put Schneids and as Unsworth admitted, he was going to as well), it was all very Koemanesque - he'd have been crucified. McCarthy??? Williams???

That game was lost as soon as we went behind.

Righto mate.

Question, answer me this, honestly - do you really believe this second half was not a good sign and we were still turbogash? We showed nothing nice and it was all downhill?

I think David Unsworth will be judged on league points he can pick up in the next few league games.
Ronald Koeman took training on Monday morning, David Unsworth said that he spent most of Monday talking to Bill Kenwright.
The players would have a light session yesterday morning and travelled to London last evening.

I am not sure why he picked the team he did and it was interesting that both Lennon and McCarthy were fit to start, but no judgement can be made from the performance tonight.

As I've said Duals, Chelsea stood off us in the second half. They knew we couldn't get behind or turn them for pace so their B team essentially just let us do our thing in front of them.

Here's the key thing here - we didn't improve until we made two subs. When Koeman made regular halftime subs, this was seen as a sign of him admitting he'd got his lineup wrong. Why isn't the same thing being levelled at Unsworth?

Did we improve ? Yes. But we lost. We went 2-0 down and they basically had to have a big defensive mixup to let us score. We showed a bit of fight at home to Lyon when Williams scored, then Sig hit the post - same outcome though, another loss and two goals conceded.

Most of that is bs and I'd argue with it, but I'm sick of repeating and strawmen being built, honestly. Tedious at this point.

Agree to disagree, slate whoever you want, arsed, going to bed, enjoy your night x
