Unsy likes to play 4231, like exactly what was cool around 5 years ago, possibly inherited from Bobby. Seeing how we're away i could expect a conservative 451 a la the Moyes days.

Here's an optimistic punt:

Picko
Kenny/Holgate Jags Keane Baines
Davies Schniderman
Mirallas Rooney Vlasic
DCL / Niasse

I'm really hopeful that the couple of days Unsworth has spent with them will have done the trick BUT I'm not expecting any miracles either. The players have looked slow, unfit and really low on confidence so if we do get smashed tonight I won't be calling Unsworth all kinds. Hopefully we play with some kind of cohesion, players looking up for it, some kind of tempo and effort and that will do me. Anything above and beyond that is a bonus for me.

Koeman really has mismanaged this group abysmally this season, I wouldn't be surprised if only Pickford and Rooney are the only ones on show tonight from the summer signings as Keane needs to be taken out for his own sake, Cuco needs to be taken out and never returned, Klassen has struggled big time and Gylfi has struggled big time along with Sandro.

John Merro says the team is:

Pickford

Kenny - Williams - Jags - Baines

Davies - Schneiderlin - McCarthy

Lennon - Rooney - Mirallas

You know the saying "good players don't become bad players overnight"? I fear the reverse is also true, in that bad players don't become good overnight. The likes of Jags and Baines have been deteriorating for seasons now, and unless Unsworth is the biggest miracle worker in football history I can't see us improving massively. I hope I'm wrong but I can see Chelsea winning 3 - 0.

Made up if Beni is in the side tonight. Want to see how he fares at this level, and as @Eggs and I discussed in the Youth thread, he's the only like for like replacement for Gana, and we'll need energy and pace and a willing tackler against these. Unsworth raves about the lad, so it's not as surprising to me as it may be to others.

I think if the rumors are true, this is a good side. We all forget about Lennon, but all he does is put in a shift and he's a true two way player. Love pairing him up on the right with Kenny. I overlooked Lennon in my predictions but this makes a lot of sense, as does Mirallas on the left. Rooney in the middle won't play as a no. 9. He and Mirallas will be switching back and forth I imagine quite often.

Lookman and Niasse first off the bench if we need to freshen things up.
