Subs saw Kenny replacing an injured Pennington, Barkley coming into midfield in place of McCarthy and Lennon replacing Dowell on the right.

The important thing to take note of is that he played a balanced side with a system that suited the players and no one was played out of position.

What stands out to me is that Pennington was given the nod over Kenny, might suggest he'll go for Holgate over kenny on Wednesday but Kenny has a few more games under his belt now and plenty of experience being part of the first team squad now so I think kenny will start.

Another thing that stands out to me is Barry playing, makes me think Rooney will start for his experience.
 
I am expecting a win now that RK has gone with the team playing attractive football like the U23s do...no excuses now...lol
 

They'll probably be weakened as we're poop and they don't take the competition seriously. Go at them full balls with as many players we have that have showed any form this season.
Mirallas? Davies? Niasse? Vlasic? Pickford?

Then just fill in the empty spots with bodies for the correct position.
 

Id expect Holgate under Unsy to get a run in CB, raved about him for the u23s and hardly remember him playing anywhere bar CB very occasionally.

Niasse played a fair bit for him so would expect him to lead the line aswell.

Same goes for Kenny, be very surprised if he didn't start considering he was captain for Unsy last year.

Davies will most likely start and again wouldn't be surprised to see McCarthy back in the team.

I'd acually really like to see this line up, I'm a bit fed up seeing DCL up front every game, he's a tidy player that will improve but he's not really good enough to lead the line every game. Also now I hope to see more of Mirallas,Lookman,Niasse and Davies should start most games, he was brilliant last season and let down by Koeman this season. I bet most players are happy he's gone, also get a new deal on the table for Ross.
