The rain, it raineth every day
Anybody know what goes into a savoury ? From what little I can find, it's mash with sage and onion, or sage and onion stuffing, then deep fried in batter. Is that it, just seems its missing something else ? I've got a hankering to make some today.

Basically mashed potatoes and sage. Season to preference.

Enjoy brohim
Bought some sage and onion stuffing (the Asda's finest), so will try this first, then just sage and onion, then sage, to see which is best. Might make them on Monday. Whilst I was trying to find a recipe I saw that a chippy in Yorkshire does a battered mushy pea fritter. lol I'll put that on the back burner for now.

Put the stuffing in a bag and crush with a rolling pin before you mix otherwise it will soak up your juices and make you crumble ?

Ive always wondered this, they used to be called fish cakes but im told there are no fish in them, ive been told by people i can eat them as a vegan but im not convinved, i used to love them as a kid

Yeah they used to be called fishcakes, probably even had some fish in them at one point.

Then someone pointed out that you can't call them that with them having a complete absence of fish.

Probably the bloody EU or something. Bring back our fishless fishcakes.
