I found that vowels were often pronounced as other vowels in a lot of cases, the Invergargle accent was the funniest.

It's interesting working in a call center as you get to hear all kind of accents. South Island is quite different to the North Island, and Maori centers like Whakatane and Taupo in the central North Island are subtly different again.
