Christian Atsu

McGeady would genuinely tear up AFCON, thats how low the standard is.
On the other hand, Atsu is still an unknown in PL. Just like you cant rejoice and claim he is this seasons saviour because he stood out in a piss poor tournament, you cant write him off based on a few sub appearances.
There is a reason Chelsea bought him in, lets just give him a chance and see what happens.

Who would you start mcgeady or Atsu? Or Naismith haha

not writing him off but he's been absolutely rank rotten in the few minutes he's had so far for us.
McGeady and Naismith both have shown much more this season, hell, Lennon did more in the few minutes he got after less that a weeks training with us.
Atsu has got to put in some performances when he gets the chance, his confidence should be high at the moment so if there ever was going to be a time when he can get out on the pitch and not look like a scared little boy who's never seen a football before it should be soon.
I'd start Kev and Lennon this week, then stick on Atsu for whoever tires first (we all know it's going to be Kev).

That is the very definition of "writing him off".
no, it's an observation based on his performances in an Everton shirt so far.
If I had written him off I'd want him nowhere near the first team because of it. He's shown that he can play football in the AFCON, he just needs to do it for us.

Needs some decent game time to show what he can do, but at the same time he needs to earn some decent game time!

The Krasnodar game was perfect for him but he got injured early on

I would think he is ineligible for the next game as its his parent club.
We finally have decent options in that area so I think all 4 wingers will be rotated form now on depending on recent playing time and form. Against Chelsea I would start McGeady Barkley and Kev with Naismith and Lennon on the bench.

....watched a little bit of AFCON, the tournament is certainly littered with star players. It's also littered with some very poor players and amazingly naive tactics and refereeing standards. Quite polar. Saying that, it's always an achievement to be names star player of any international tournament, let's not knock that. Hopefully he can start showing some form for us, he's been poor thus far.
There's plenty of games in the world cup you could have made the same observations. Aren't all international managers ex-European or South American club team managers.

I'm not saying he will come back and shine since he might not like the physical nature of the premiership however in Europa he might be a big asset.

McGeady, a bit like Naismith is a player who tries and tries and for that I don't want to be too hard on him but if we're going to beat top teams he's simply not good enough.

Lets give Atsu a run of PL games irrespective of how he plays as soon as he gets back so we can get a bit of momentum going for the Europa games.

...I'd be chuffed if his Everton career lifts off now. Here's hoping.

My attacking 4 would be Lukaku, Lennon, McGeady and Barkley.

I don't trust Kev to put in a shift against Chelsea plus we need him fresh for the Europa League games. Crap apparently McGeady is injured.

He really wouldn't have. The standard is easily higher than many of the match ups that will be seen in France 2016 when Lithuania take on Slovenia etc etc.
Or some of the dire World Cup games we see.

Atsu shone far brighter than:
Yaya Toure
Gervinho
Bony
Tiote
Papiss Cisse
Stephan Mbia
Yacine Brahimi
Islam Slamini
Aubemayang
Yannick Bolasie

But hey- he's been rubbish every time you've seen him in a blue shirt.

That's 70 minutes in total in the league
and 95 minutes in total in the Europa league

But no he's been given a fair run, and clearly has nothing to offer. We pretty much haven't even seen the player in a blue shirt- Martinez himself said months ago that he only envisioned Atsu featuring in the 2nd half of the season- but nah, he's rubbish.
I would hope that when he does feature for Everton he'll have fans full support, not groans every time he misplaces and pass or tries something risky. He's got real talent, let's encourage him to use it at EFC.
