The now traditional car boots have slowly killed them off - many have closed down with dwindling congregations - the modern person prefers a bargain at a car boot .... fact - next door neighbour religiously put the hymn prayer books out & attended his early morning service - he would then go on to the car boot - - I would have a chat the next day - he would moan no bargains there - I would have been there early as a car boot seller of plants ages ago, & relate to him the collectable gems My wife & I both got - two weeks later he abandoned going to church ....

Is right Joey. Your neighbour was looking for treasure and wonder in the wrong place, what he really wanted was someone else’s unwanted ornaments, used gardening equipment and foot spas.

I've got a pretty religious background. Clergy on both sides of the family - Catholic on mum's, Methodist on dad's. Was confirmed into the Catholic Church, was even an altar boy until 13. Was quite religious as a young lad.

No truck with any of it these days, and am bringing my kids up to be agnostic.
