They are of course looking at treatments, and the hope is that a combination of existing drugs can accelerate the return to 'normal'. A fully trialed vaccine as you were referring to takes far longer to develop.Beach and park yes, shops for clothes and pubs are closed, but the whole lockdown is pretty much voluntary at this point.
I mean theres people going for 50 mile bike rides. @Bruce Wayne
So you think no football will be played this year?
At this point im sure they are trying both treatment and vaccination.

Think we can stick a fork in this season now C.
While I think there may be football sometime later this year, I don't think you will see full stadiums in 2020.
All this talk of completing the 2019/2020 season is wishful thinking.
I hope I'm wrong though.
Forgive me for taking all this with a massive pinch of salt, if they had a vaccine, 000s wouldnt be dying daily mate.
And yes I know it needs to go through trials, but if it worked, why wouldnt it be given to the dying, to you know, stop them dying.
But forgive me, im just really sick of reading about promises being made that people cant keep.
Few more games? TV will get the lot if no fans. Think they'll take that.Attention turning to 20/21, it's getting to the let's just cut our losses now because we can't afford to lose next season, give the telly a few more games to broadcast and lets move on
I think we're all sick of the whole situation but we're dealing with something that has been in evolution for millions of years. To expect a solution within a few months whilst desirable it's unreasonable, unless you're Donald Trump. However because we've developed vaccines for similar viruses then it's plausible to believe that one can be found soon.Yeah and I probably sound like some tinfoil nutjob, but im honestly sick of people making promises they cant keep, nobody has a clue if we will even be able to make a viable vaccine.
Funny you say this as I've been thinking this too, if the first few months of the season are behind closed doors there is an advantage and they will make sure the top teams benefitYou just know Liverpool will play all their games against their rivals away from home first so their chances of fans being packed in anfield in the 2nd half of the season.
Absolutely nailed on.
Many versions of a vaccine have been developed, but they are all in the testing phases. There are at least two that are already testing in humans.
Giving the vaccine if they are already infected isn’t going to help those folks. Vaccines are preventative not therapeutic.
Now as far as treatments, a lot of already developed antivirals are being studied. And so you know, even while trials are ongoing at least in the US, folks can still get them via something a called compassionate use. I’m sure UK has similar.

Wouldn't be good I agree but if we cancel a whole season we may as well cancel English football for the foreseeable as it would destroy us.If there's no fans I'd rather next season get scrapped, what's the point otherwise, it would be another dead rubber season
