Talking about next season if we can't start season with fans in the stadium it would be like having a alcohol free beer .what's the point.we would have wait hopefully just a little bit longer if it comes to this

Not sure, the government will have to lift the lockdown at some point in the what few weeks. As soon as they do the pressure to restart games will be huge.
The lockdown isnt the end of it mate , and even then that will be reviewed in another 3 weeks.
There will be no contact whatsoever while the social distancing is in place. That is going to be many months away.

Some of the statements coming out from the various FAs and league are disgusting, especially while people are dying due to this thing. Germany is particularly nauseating allowing their clubs to train? The Don is right, football don't matter at the moment!

Having said that, all this talk of behind closed doors matches or a festival of football at one venue is complete gash, and I am offended by the very notion of such garbage, especially from the Danny Murphy's and the rest of the red media twonks speaking for all fans, as if that's what we want! They have no right to speak for me.

As our pinkie chums used to like to say at their neverending protests that they had every week "football without fans is nothing!". Well, We know there would be thousands of fans outside grounds or whatever venue they choose, any sane person can see this, yet this rubbish is still spouted about the integrity of the competition's!?! Give over for god's sake!

Amazing how they really want to get this season finished or called as it stands, and nuts to the teams in the relegation places, at any and all costs? Also it doesn't seem to matter if they ruin any upcoming seasons, even though this one is buggered?!

Tbh I don't give a flying one what they do in relation to that lot and winnig the league, it doesn't matter and it's tainted now anyway. This season is done and needs to be called as such, I just hope me, my family and all you and yours get through this safe and well, and then footy and Everton can come back when it's right to do so.

I’m not sure, think it will be difficult to enforce social distancing once the lockdown is over. As soon as they ease it a tiny bit the clamour will be unbelievable for football to start again.

Oh , I think the clamour is at its peak now mate , when the figures pass 20,000 the reality will finally hit home.

The FA , FIFA ,UEFA and the rest of the governing bodies are being pressured by Sky , BT etc because of the money involved.
There's no easy solutions here , but Life has to come before Money , there wont be any movement until it is safe to do so....and that is a very long way off.

When isolation started early in March we were warned by the medical spokesmen not to get complacent when the rates of infection started to slow down.
The certain danger is that when people get out and about again infections and deaths would return in even greater numbers.

Some commentators here are clamouring for a start back to normality and are happy to quote them when it suits them, but I haven't heard one of them refer
to that initial warning.

As for the football, my hope is that whatever is decided about this unfinished season doesn't impact on next season if it's avoidable. I love Everton and
football, but I'm really not interested right now.

Construction sites with a lot more people working in confined spaces is still happening today.

If its safe for construction workers its safe for footballers.

Still enforcing (or at least trying to as much as you can get some sub-contractors to even wear the correct PPE) the 2m rule on all of my sites that are still open.

The simple fact is, if the 5 conditions for easing restrictions are not met the government won’t ease up on lockdown. These include the a sustained fall in the number of deaths, infection rate being at a manageable level and widespread testing being available. Not to mention a good supply of PPE.

That ain’t happening soon.

Just shows that football isn't a sport anymore, it's a business. It'll be okay to null and void all the lower leagues, but heaven forbid doing that to the prem, all because there's too much money to lose. If they want to fit everything in like it's summer camp, you have to do it all the way down the football pyramid, otherwise you're saying you don't care about the lower leagues they mean nothing.
